Who does the trip planning in your house?

ME, MYSELF and I :teeth: This is DH and DSD first time so I truly want their input but they also know that every time we have gone on a trip that I have planned they have a great time. (HHMMM maybe that is why he married me... :rotfl2: ) I think the biggest thing is that they have no real concept on how big WDW is. You just can't compare it to anything else. :thumbsup2 I have planned the ADR's and some side activities so far. When it gets two weeks before leaving I will plan the days a bit more. For know I am just enjoying getting my packing list together and reading all the threads on DIS :teeth:

Mine! Mine! It's all Mine!! :teeth:

Actually, I LOVE planning for WDW (it's inherited from my mom!). Plus, since I'm at home, I have more time. So far, I've decided when and how long to go, where to stay, made ADRs, and planned the schedule. I do ask DH for preferences on dining. (Hmm, now that I think about it, that's pretty much how our wedding got planned, too 11 years ago!

I do all the research online and buy the guide books, make tons of lists for what to bring, and thanks to my addiction to the Dis I'm now also 1) planning what iron-ons to use for our matching shirts for each day and 2) planning surprises for Tink to leave the kids each night. Yeah, I'm

DW was involved in choosing the resort, dealing with the travel agent and the dates. After that it was all me reading every scrap of info I could find about WDW and doing the touring plans and ADR's with input from DW, DS, and DD. I really enjoy it but have to limit the amount I talk about it. Seems like every conversation turns to something about WDW and I'm sure to others I'm a Disney Freak but oh well! :cool1: Like one of the other posters said, it has become a hobby for me. :)

Totally me. I enjoy it, he doesn't. He just likes to show up for the trip -- for me, the planning bears its own joys!

It's easier for me to tell you what my DH does:

Wakes up day of trip, showers, gets dressed and gets in the limo.

footnote: I even have to have his travelling clothes ready for him - down to the shoes :rotfl2:

Well, I'm a single parent, but while I do make all the final plans, it is always with input from the Dkids. We all are very opinionated about our favorite attractions and meals, and we enjoy going through the guidebooks rating each one. Then I add up the "points" each one received and set our priorities for each day. Hehe, I have the kids so well trained on this that they ask me when I'll have the itinerary done!

Me (dw) makes all ADRS, books hotel, etc. However my dh loves to read the menus and we talk a lot about it - he gets just as excited - ok maybe not as excited :lmao: but thats my wishful thinking! Well, its a good trade off anyway, I plan, he pays! :rotfl2:

I usually do all the planning, then point the family in the right direction and away we go. I don't mind it at all.

Me. I have always done the planning for our vacations, and I would have it no other way. I love researching our vaction spots and booking our tours, airfare, hotel, ect.. DH just listens and agrees. He knows not to get between me and my vacations!!! ;) What's so funny is that DH has never really card about the details until I took him to WDW this year. Now that I am planning out upcoming trip for Oct., he's all over the place wanting to make sure we're going to do this or do that!! I've just laughed and laughed.

In my house, it is all me and I'm the oldest daughter. Of course I have to get everything approved by my parents, but I make the schedule and the phone calls. LOL.

yeah It's all me, and I wouldn't want it anyother way! I was told once that I overplan so I let the DH take over one of our Kid-free nights in the world and we did a whole lot of walking , and not much seeing or doing!!!

It's all me, and I love it. And for me also, it's like a hobby. Whether it be just DH and I or a crowd of us, I do all the planning and all the ressies. Of course we always have discussions on things we all want to do and make sure we are all in agreement on the ADR'S, but I do all the calling and getting everything set up.

Michele

Definitely me, and neither DH nor I would have it any other way. He doesn't even have much input. He half-jokingly calls me his "Disney tour guide," and even got me a pin that the Disney tour guides wear. For one thing, he'd be the first to admit that without my knowledge from these boards and Samantha Brown, he wouldn't have experienced lots of things he's enjoyed. He loves to tell people who've only been to WDW once or twice about the Illuminations Cruise, Kitchen Sink, Sci-Fi Drive Inn, etc. Also, I love the planning-anything to do with WDW! And he just doesn't plan vacations. Many years ago, he used to complain that "We go to WDW all the time. Let's go someplace different next year." I made it plain to him that "As long as I plan the trips, we go to WDW. If you want to go somewhere else, YOU plan it!" Well, that's the last I heard about it and although it's taken about 15 years for him to enjoy it, I think he's finally starting to look forward to our WDW trips.

I am making the majority of the planning, decisions, and reservations and I am just the middle child! My Mom does the next most, and my dad hardly does anything.

I do all the planning...but it's by choice. My husband always lets me plan everything...he is so 'go with the flow', so it doesn't matter to him. And I'm not a control freak...I promise.

Actually, I plan the days at the park, the resort, the dining and he plans the activities IN the actual park. He's so good at navigating around.

I do the majority of the planning for our trips. DH and the DDs give their input on dining choices but I do the rest from deciding which park/which day to what things we will see and do each park day. I think DD#2 has inherited my trip planning fever--the other night I sat down with DH to look at our itinerary and DD#2 pulled up a chair and said "Hey, let's talk about our Disney trip. When are we going to ride Expedition Everest?" :teeth:

ME!!!! DH might pick when he can get a vacation but I'm the one here who does all the other planning. DH just isn't a planner persay anyway and I have much more time to gather info than he does. DH has learned to listen to me on the planning stuff tho.

If I didn't have internet service I prolly wouldn't do disney went blind in the past long before there was internet service because someone (DH) was to cheap to buy a guide book which with the internet now is no longer even needed.

I do all the planning for all of our trips. I love to plan and DH does not care anything about planning. I often think I enjoy the planning more than the actual trip!

It is all me, DH makes fun of me for what he says is my DIS addiction. Last year he made fun of me for changing our ADRs a million times. My DH did request that we return to the POP this year and that we eat dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. My 4 year old DD also put in a reques for the PSB dinner again this year. I love planning these trips so much that sometimes I think I should change my job and become a travel agent.

:bounce: :sad2: :rotfl: Last year was the first year my bf ever went to DW and it was a surprise so I did all the planning. This year we are going for my birthday and I am still doing the planning. He particpates when I ask! :) :rolleyes1
