Who Does Laundry While At WDW?

Hey SlightlyGoofy....WELCOME to the Laundry brigade! :rotfl2: I had thought about the outfit per day thing too but somehow I always end up having days where we have to change more then once and I just can't pack enough in those darn suitcases! :teeth: it's really nice to have a WM close by, especially since I work for the company...you know, the mighty 10% discount! :rotfl2: Have lots of fun on your next trip and hang in there! :thumbsup2 Helen

We always end up doing laundry...with 2 kids it's impossible not to. Plus, it makes things easier. Don't forget to take into account the tshirts you'll probably buy when you are there. Everyone ends up with at least one new shirt in our family! :)

Back when our kids were still at home and we went on vacation I would take two shirts for each pair of slacks and get two days use out of the slacks that way but when it is so hot and you get so sweaty it is just not comfortable, for us or the people we are near. :rotfl2:

helenm29, thanks for the lovely welcome. I have found that laundry really is not so very bad when surrounded by other Disney lovers. I bring extra detergent and fabric softener since we drive down and have the room. I share with my fellow washers and save them pretty big bucks and we swap Disney tales while their loved ones play in the pool. Was that not clever and thoughtful of Disney to put the laundry right by the pool? :wizard:

It is a tad hard to haul those dirty clothes to and from and we best not speak of the high prices charged. Sure makes me appreciate home just a tad bit when I get home and can just dump the mess without breaking out whole rolls of quarters and having to wait for a machine to be empty. :thumbsup2

Just does not seem right to be doing such mundane things while on vacation. Takes away from the magic however it is still better to be at DW doing laundry than not to be there at all. :cheer2:

Laundry?? What's laundry :confused3

:lmao: Not a chance! Last year I did all the laundry 2 days before we left, spent $$ i really didnt need too, just to come home and REWASH everything. Just thinking of wearing clothes washed in a public laundry just makes me wanna  :scared1: :faint: (yes the OCD even exists in Disney)

Can you have laundry sent out? I know at most hotels you can send laundry out and they take care of washing it and drying it. With it just being my son and I, I doubt I will want to do laundry. Heck, I'm on a break from that day to day stuff! But sending it out is something I would consider if it is an option.
If it isn't, then I think that would be a fantastic business for the WDW area. Too bad I live so far away.

I do mine the last day we are there. That way, I don't have any dirty laundry when I get home and have to go back to work.

I have to do laundry but I am so paranoid about doing laundry! Ideally I should leave it in the dryer whilst having breakfast but I once encountered someone moving peoples clothes from their dryer and stealing the drying time. This made me obsessive about our laundry.

If it were just myself and one other person, YOU BET that I would have the laundry service do my laundry! :thumbsup2 however, since there are 5 of us it's just simply not an option. I usually bring a book and a drink with me to do my laundry because I don't want to leave my poor, defenceless things to someone elses mercy! :rotfl2: I would never move someone elses things...just not comfortable with that! HAVE FUN but save some for ME! Helen
