Who does Britney think she is kidding?

I couldn't even finish reading the transcript it was like reading an interview with a 12 year old. Now I'm sorry, I'm sure she's a nice girl and very talented but read the part about how Kevin left a "pregnant girlfriend and small child" for her. Talk about not taking responsibility.

Britney claims that "she didn't know" about Kevin having 1 child and another on the way when she met him. But if you look back at earlier pics, she had to have known as the press put it right out there as soon as they were pictured on a beach in Hawaii.

She did an interview on Oprah once with her Mother and the Mother spent a lot of that interview talking about how Britney has a younger sister Jaimie that was talented, yada yada ya.

I haven't been paying much attention to the travails of Brit n' Kev, but I caught the interview last night and couldn't turn away- so sad to watch.

I think a big part of the problem is the hangers on that celebrities surround themselves with. There's no one close to her that's willing to tell her she's a trainwreck, and what she needs to do is move to the middle of nowhere and raise her babies if she doesn't like the attention. As long as she tries to have a career, she's going to be chased by the press, it's just the way it is. She just won't/can't see that, based on her (non)responses to Lauer last night. She's hearing this stuff from strangers, but obviously not from the people she trusts.

She accomplished the goal she set out to do - everyone is talking about her the next day. Doesn't matter if it's good publicity or bad, in the end, all publicity is good, Keeps her name in the headlines until she gets back in the recording studio.

Glad you know what her intentions are, do you know her personally? I'm not a fan but it amazes me when people know what others are thinking or doing when they have no clue!

Some things that occurred to me last night:
1) I read somewhere that she only had an 8th grade education. I didn't believe that until last night. It really showed IMO.
2) Was her father involved in her life at all? I hear about her mother Lynne all the time, but it's usually girls searching for a father figure in their lives who run out and marry the first boy they find that will show them love. Just curious as I really know nothing about her dad.
3) There is no way she didn't know about Shar Jackson. And I'll bet Julia Roberts is pissed today! Britney reminding everybody that she's a homewrecker too to get all the attention off of her. Yikes!
4) It bothers me that she still will not take accountability for her wrong-doings. Yes, we all make mistakes and if mine were caught on tape, I would acknowledge them, apologize and move on. The fuss over the car seat incidents was not just "trying to sell papers"- you put his safety at risk! And how about saying she still did not regret her 2 day marriage to her hometown friend? Didn't that cost her $500,000 and royally P.O.d her mother? I would at the very least call that a mistake and say I regretted it.
5) All in all, that baby is precious and I'm always struck by the picture of her sitting in the restaurant after the tripping incident (not really her fault IMO) and Sean's on her lap looking up into her face as if to say "What's wrong mommy?". He clearly loves his mother and she needs to focus on that.
6) I also agree with whoever said that she has to make it to September with Kevin. She's not about to prove everyone right and let Kevin leave her while pregnant with #2 (aka Shar Jackson). That would be too poetic and even her ego couldn't handle that backlash.
Just my 2 cents. I don't hate Britney. I'm indifferent towards her.

That interview was about 100 times more trainwrecky and awful than I was expecting. She looks terrible and sounds like she didn't make it past the sixth grade.

And Sweet Holy Moses, someone teach this girl how to use air quotes.

I just spit coffee all over my desk. :rotfl2: :surfweb:

I watched the interview last night and one of the things that stood out to me was the "flashback" they kept showing of her at Christmas time with Matt Lauer. At that time she seemed pretty well-spoken for a 17 year old girl, in fact she seemed much more intelligent than last night. If anything as you age you should gain a sense of self and at least be able speak as well as you did when you were 17. I wonder if she didn't have people who were helping her and keeping up her "image" and now since she is not making music they are no longer there for her. She kept saying that she always had people telling her how to act and now she is much happier being herself. Maybe, this is the "real" her and everything before was a ruse. It would stand to reason that its hard to stand accountable for your actions when since a young age all you've had are "yes men" around you. If you are always told; "you're the best", "anything you want we'll give to you", "you can do no wrong". It seems like she missed an important life lessons about admitting when you've made a mistake and learning from that mistake. That is no excuse for what she did, just an observation. The impression I got was that she is a very sad person who was has no idea who she really is, where she is going, and how to grow up.

I feel so sorry for her!!! I hated the part where they were talking about her driving with her baby on her lap and she goes "we're country...blah, blah, blah." I live in the South but I don't ever let my DD behind the steering wheel of a car when I drive. She has so many excuses instead of admitting she's wrong-seems she will never take responsibilty and learn from her mistakes.

I confess I never watched the interview. I don't understand the "we're country" remark either. People just did dumb stuff in the past. My family is not country by any stretch of the imagination. We are native Washington, D.C. people. I distinctly remember being about 4 years old and whenever we would turn into our neighborhood, my mom would put me on her lap and let me "drive" the car. Oh, I thought it was fabulous. But, I grew up and I don't do that with my children and my mom just shudders to think about it now.

I really don't care about anything she said in the interview, how she looked, or ho she acted. The only thing I came away with is this. She still doesn't thinki t's wrong to have an infant on your lap while driving. That's scary. I figured with all the bad press about that incident she would understand it is very dangerous. Instead, all she took out of the ordeal is "woe is me, why won't people leave us alone."

OK...I have to point this out from the transcript. It is kind of well know that Kevin has a "big heart" (cough).
His heart is awesome!!!
:happytv: :lmao:

Kind of wondering what inside joke or dig this is and to whom....???:stir: :scratchin

Spears: He’s very simple. Women complicate everything. He’s so simple. His simplicity and just he’s like a boy. He just, you know, and he cares. He cares so much and his—his heart is awesome. He has a really big heart and I love that.

I am not agreeing with Brit but you are making fun of her and noone likes to be made fun of. I do think she should have stayed with Justin.

I completely agree with you....

Her actions say one thing and her words say another. I honestly feel sorry for the girl, she is a trainwreck.

Didn't any catch that she is now a Clothes Designer for Children. She is designing Rock & Roll Clothes that are really cute. That is when Matt Lauer asked her if she likes business and then she replied she loves money.

She had a golden opportunity to turn public view of her around and she blew it. She blew the whole thing! Her look, the gum, the idiotic responses to questions and the opportunity to own up to mistakes she made. Yes, we've all made mistakes but we've admitted they were mistakes and vowed never to make them twice. Instead she popped her gum and said there will be many more "oopses" down the road and she doesn't regret anything. Her explanation for why she had her 5 month old son in her lap on a highway didn't even make sense.

She is a loon and will most definitely continue to be a paparazzi target until she gets her **** together.

If her clothing line is anything like her own style, I'll pass. Of course, I'll pass anyway because I am not a fan and don't even think she is talented. She looked trashy in her interview. Her makeup looked like some ol' grandma who likes bright makeup and can't see well to apply it, her hair was overprocessed and nappy looking--the roots when they showed the back of her head were just beyond gross. Her choice of clothing was terrible and all that gum popping...
She just seems like she has lost all sense of style and good hygiene. I've in the hills of TN and people around here are not "country" like that. There is a name for it but I think we all know what it is...

She's just losing herself. Someone needs to step in and help her before it is too late.

IMO things will never get better for her until she dumps that loser white trash husband of hers. But she's so defensive about him that I doubt it will happen for a while.

Part of me thinks she still wants to revive her career. I hate to say it but she has a kid now and another on the way. I think her partying days are over. Why not just gracefully stay out of the spotlight and focus on the clothing lines???

And can't she ever have an assistant go to Starbucks? Or order takeout? Is it really necessary to make a big show every time you get a frappucino -- blame the paparazzi all you want but it's not like she doesn't KNOW they are going to be following her. Yes they go overboard but it's like she keeps baiting them!

She's a mess and it's like watching a trainwreck. She and her mom seemed so close but I think the whole families eyes have become like this: ($) ($)

I hope this is a joke!

Britney Spears going to Namibia to give birth

Britney Spears has told NBC's Matt Lauer that she will move to Namibia "in the near future" to prepare for the birth of her second child, a daughter who is due in "late September or early November." Breaking down in tears during the interview, which will be broadcast Thursday on the Today show and Friday on Dateline, Ms. Spears said she is "an emotional wreck" right now. She blames the paparazzi and the false tabloids for her fragile state of mind.

During the wide ranging interview, Ms. Spears denied rumors that her husband of twenty-one months, Kevin Federline, is living in their basement. She also said repeatedly that she is a "good mom," despite the fact that she was photographed driving her SUV with her son, Sean Preston, sitting on her lap.

"I did it with my dad," said Ms. Spears. "I'd sit on his lap and I'd drive. We're country."

For some reason, perhaps he was having a Tom Cruise flashback, Mr. Lauer neglected to mention that at the time the incident had occurred, last February, Ms. Spears had said her son was on her lap because she was trying to escape the paparazzi and didn't have time to buckle him in his seat.

Mr. Lauer did ask Ms. Spears why she had chosen Namibia for the birth of her child.

"Kevin has always been a fan of African-American culture," she replied. "I'm sure he'll feel at home there, rapping with all the natives. Besides, there's lots of quiet unpaved roads where Sean Preston and I can go driving."

Ms. Spears also said that Namibia reminds her of California "because it's on the ocean and there's lots of sand. So if Sean Preston fell off his swing and landed on his head, there's less chance he would be hurt and we'd have those snoops from child welfare up our butts all the time."

Finally, said Ms. Spears, "I heard that Namibia has laws that let celebrities say whether or not journalists are allowed in the country. That's so important, even more important than getting the same villa that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had."

I bet she's having a terrible day today. :guilty:

I wonder if she could even watch herself on t.v. & if she did - did she see what others see. She needs help. :guilty:

I wonder if Justin looks at the interviews and the photos and goes "thank God I left that train before it crashed" :rotfl:

I have never been a fan of BS, her music or the image that she has projected over the years. I watched part of the interview and I honestly felt sorry for her. For years, we've seen the "Britney" that her promoters wanted us to see. Evidently, that image is not who she really is. I think that she is struggling to figure out where she fits in now. I think the paparazzi are definitely hounding her. Yes, she has made stupid mistakes, she looked trashy in the interview and she is definitely in a downward spiral. I still felt sorry for her, she has taken on a lot of responsibilities that, apparently, wasn't equipped to handle. I hope that she gets it together for her children.

I totally agree!
