Following on from the thread about ancestors and roots i wondered if people would like to post about theirs.......

We traced ours back on my maternal side and we went back several generations, luckily alot of the family lived in the same street in Birmingham and had the same names!!

It was interesting seeing some of their trades such as 'coffee groundsman', 'tool maker'.

So anyone got any interesting stories.....

We have a few different trades in our tree, clog makers, customs and excise men, journeyman bakers, miners, farmers, lithograph printers, curriers, saw mill owners and workers, joiners, hosiers (as in weavers of stockings and socks, glove making and such) telegraph operators and postmen, schoolteachers university lecturers and professors, nurses. You get the idea
