We've had a few threads that have established who we're voting for, but who do you think will win?

I'll go first. I think Bush will win. Incumbent presidents don't lose often. When they do, they are beaten by charismatic candidates that excite the voters -- think Reagan and Clinton -- with the economy being a major issue. Kerry can make the economy an issue, but he can't channel what Reagan had and Clinton has.

I thought we had a who will win thread. But I'll do another one. :teeth:

Bush! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/21/21_1_5v.gif' alt='Vote Bush' border=0></a>

I too think the President Bush will be reelected. Your reasoning is also probably pretty dead-on. I also think it will be close and it will get very ugly all around in the next 2 months. Can't wait until it's over.

The candidate with the best lawyers, Oh Wait that was the last one.

Where is the VOTE BUSH smiley?????????????:cheer2: :jumping1: :cheer2:

Bush will win and I don't think it will be all that close actually. Certainly, nothing like last time.

I think some people are forgetting about a new group of voters who could help Kerry win.
Never before has MTV pushed 18-24 year olds to get out and vote as they have this year.

For the last several months they have been running a VOTE OR DIE campaign. With PDiddy heading up the whole thing, they've subtly been backing Kerry. They don't come right out and say vote Kerry, but it's there. They've had registration booths at every concert my daughter has been to this year. They're at colleges all over the country. Every other commercial on MTV is about voting. Hundreds of musicians have been involved with this campaign. If this doesn't get the kids out there to vote, I don't know what will.

I believe it's going to be much closer than anyone thinks and it could go either way.

I agree--Bush. I was worried there for a while, but the convention really alleviated much of that worry.

I guess that we'll have a clearer picture after the debates, but I don't think it'll be that close, either.

That could happen, but I wonder if many of those kids will actually go to the trouble to vote? Especially if they hear that Bush still leads in the polls shortly before the election.

I can only speak for my 2 children who are 19 and 21. They are
both registered to vote and will be voting for Kerry. I hope that MTV and the musicians make a difference with the younger voters and motivate them to get out and vote!!

Though I'll vote for Kerry, I think Bush will win by one of the larger margins of my lifetime. Something along the lines of 54% to 47%, heavy turnout in the Bible Belt.

I think its still to early to tell. I wouldn't be surprised either way. I'm hoping Kerry though. But I think it will come down to the last week or so of the election. Hopefully it won't be too close though. I don't want another 6 weeks like last time.

As things get uglier and uglier I think Bush will come out the "winner". Most of the rest of the country will be losers tho'.

Come two years from now I doubt the "winner" will have coattails.

I agree with you that MTV has been trying to motivate the youth to get out and vote however, this is not the first election they have done this. MTV has pushed really hard the last three presidential elections to get the youth to vote. I believe it started with elections in 92 with the ROCK the VOTE campaign.

I do believe that President Bush will win the election. :wave2:
