Who do you think will win the Presidential election?

Think Kerry will win the popular vote, and Bush will win the electoral vote.

Actually, recent studies of the polling trends, by Zogby and the like, suggest just the opposite. That is is much more possible that Bush will win the popular vote with Kerry winning in the electoral vote. Wonder how the Democrats will feel about the electoral college then.

I feel if Bush wants to see 4 more years, they better muzzle Cheney. His scare tactics that you will not be safe if a democrate is elected is ludicrous.

This guy scares me!

I do think Bush will win though.

bush will win if he's able to trot out OBL before the election. Kerry will win by a relatively large margin (barring any unusual happenings) based on the debates in which Edwards will toy with Cheany and Kerry will stomp bush by simply being able to finish a coherent sentence...

But wasn't that suppose to happen with the debates last time around? I can see Bush having more trouble with the debates than Cheney though.

Yes it was, my friend, but we all overestimated Gore's ability and I don't think Edwards, being a very good trial lawyer will have a problem and Kerry seems very ready to rise to the occasion and based on his proven Senate oratory skills, I think this too will happen...I just wish you'd finally see the light and join the Pirate on the good side as you've aways seemed like such an intelligent and good guy!:teeth:

Thanks....Back at you.

He does put together a good sentence. He will, however, have to make a the same discernible point at the end of the sentence that he started out with at the beginning of the sentence.

BTW, hope Marathon....and the rest of FL for that matter, manages to dodge the next one. I imagine it's getting pretty old.....

I think Kerry will win...and I do think the young voters will make the difference. I've said this before, but its worth repeating. The kids who are in college now are not the alienated, disengaged young (non) voters of the Baby Boom and Gen X cohorts. They will vote in greater numbers than ever before.

On my daughter's campus, which is a large campus in a swing state, 69% of a recent poll indicated that they supported Kerry. A large number of them said they would vote. My daughter's entire Senior class registered to vote at their Senior breakfast and all of her friends have requested absentee ballots (I'm trying to get my daughter to vote in her swing state, but she wants to be able to say she voted for Obama.)

I have thought the same thing about Democrats always trying to scare the elderly into voting for them, they usually try to scare the poor and various ethnic groups as well. So, since Cheney is actually mentioning something that in reality is pretty scary, I don't see a problem.

I can't wait for the debates. Kerry may be a good speaker, but G.W.Bush will come off as more likable and sound more like the rest of the country- Kerry will sound like a Mass. Senator.

As for Cheney and Edwards- I hope Cheney brings a muzzle because Edwards used to be my Senator and I still can't stand to hear him speak.

Edwards and Kerry remind me of the Looney Toons Cartoon with the big Bull Dog strutting down the street and the little dog running around him saying "what are we going to do today boss, Huhuhuh?" Anybody know what I am talking about?

The winner will be the one who doesn't have to spend the next 4 years in the White House. Holy cow. Who would want that job anyway???

jenfur, I think the description you provided sounds more like Bush chasing after Cheney. Actually, I think the description is near perfection when it comes to Bush in general!!

Edited to add: Beeeuatiful baby jenfur!! What a cutie pie!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGREED!!!!!!!!!! That is one job that even a 7 digit salary can't candy coat! :crazy2:

I was going to vote for Senator Kerry but now that Vice President Cheney says that if Senator Kerry wins, we have a better chance of a terrorist attack in the US, I have decided to vote for President Bush.

I'll go first. I think Bush will win. Incumbent presidents don't lose often. When they do, they are beaten by charismatic candidates that excite the voters -- think Reagan and Clinton -- with the economy being a major issue. Kerry can make the economy an issue, but he can't channel what Reagan had and Clinton has.

I think Kerry will win. Events in Iraq are about to really explode. I don't believe a President can be re-elected who has both a war go south on him and the reasons for that war also go south on him. I still think Iraq is the single greatest issue facing this country.

There are so many undercurrents in this country this year. Even the polls are reflecting that uneasiness. Even though Bush has a lead, it isn't quite what one would expect from a successful wartime president.

Something's going out there and it's hard to get a fix on it.

Speaking for myself, I think the electoral college should be done away with and have a direct popular vote.

However, if the scenario of Kerry winning the electoral vote and Bush winning the popular vote comes to pass, it's going to be a wonderful 4 years hearing Republicans whine.

Ahhh, if there's a God in Heaven................;)

I believe that Bush will win. That's good too because that is who I am voting for. Go BUSH!!!! :teeth:

I think George W. Bush will go down in history as a one term president just like his father.

Like Father like son.
