Who do we have here from Chicagoland?

I grew up on the Southwest Side of Chicago, right next to Midway Airport! We now reside in lovely Tinley Park, southwest of the the city.

Grew up in Hegewisch (5 points to everyone who knows where that is!). It's on the Southeast Side of the city, in actual Chicago city limits.

Shouting out to Lansing and NW Indiana! :wave2:

Now we live in Rockford, DH works in Elgin and we frequent both Chicago and NW Indiana.

My partner grew up in the 'lilac capitol of the world', Lombard IL; we live in Minneapolis now but get to Chicagoland to visit relatives fairly regularly.
We often go to the Lilac parade in Lombard... My FIl and SIL live there!

You Joliet and Plainfield folks are rivals. I graduated from Romeoville.

We live in the southwest suburb of Chicago called Homer Glen

Being one who never handles change easily, it will forever be "Homer Township" to me. ;) Of course, I'm old Plainfield, where you give directions according to landmarks that haven't existed in 20 years. The newbies hate that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm headed to your neck of the woods this weekend: Premium Outlets.

I'm a "Naperdale" girl at heart even though I'm down in corn country now.

DD has flu this weekend....

Otherwise it would have been fun to say Hi.

What a beautiful day for shopping! Nice shops, too. The best part was DM was picking up the tab. Who says you can't go home again?! I hope your little is feeling better!

Grew up in Fox Lake - moved to Chicago around Montrose & Narragansett, moved out to Carpentersville just by East Dundee - just across from Bonnie Dundee Golf Course, and behine Dolphin's cove.

We reside in Matteson Illinois about a half an hour away from chicago.

Actually you probably mean 25 miles (it can take a whole lot longer than 30 minutes some times).

Okay, how do you pronounce Matteson? Mat-e-son or Mat-son. Since 1950 I pronounced it Mat-e-son. I think the newer folks coming out from the city pronounce it Mat-son. They're the same group as the Bour-bon-ay folks.

My mom was born in Monee in 1918. Chicago wasn't any where near our area then.
