Who do we have here from Chicagoland?

Until recently, Frankfort was considered about as south as the south suburbs went. I graduated Lincoln Way (Romeoville rival, don't remember playing against Joliet) then headed to Valparaiso U. Ends up, my dd's and me are living in the home I grew up in! In over-populated Frankfort.

To the OP....are you thinking on planning a Chicago DVC Meet?! :teeth:

Well, I am a Michigan native, but I share the Lake with all of you :goodvibes Both DDs now live in Edgewater Beach area, just two blocks from each other, and near all the other Michiganians. It's quickly becoming Little Michigan in that neighborhood! We dry up if we stray too far from the Lake :)

Okay, how do you pronounce Matteson? Mat-e-son or Mat-son. Since 1950 I pronounced it Mat-e-son.

I always pronounce it "Mattsun", because when I was growing up, there was always some commercial on TV that mentioned a location or venue (don't remember what the commercial was for) in "Mattsun".

We're in Gurnee too! DH grew up in Jeff Park in the city, and I grew up in Libertyville.

I know I am late on this one (or maybe I answered already) but we have lived in Naperville for about 5 years though we are originally from the southern US.

LOL!! Yes, it does ring a bell, but that would be Max Madsen on Ogden in Downers Grove. ;)

It was a commercial where after the commercial, a narrator would run through the locations at the end and always mentioned "Mattsun".\

Hello Magical Fun!!! My 2 youngest are 7 and 9, but we live in Naperville. We are closer to Wheaton than Oswego. We moved here from Florida and you would swear we ruined our kids' lives!!!! Actually we are doing okay, I guess Goldi is the closest disser to me....HI GOLDI!!!

Born & raised in Evergreen Park -- 4 years in Bloomington, 1 in South Bend, 4 more in Oak Lawn, then back to Evergreen. Steve's from Homewood originally, but also did stints in Bloomington & Oak Lawn.

I was born & raised in Deerfield (northern Suburb)....Now, we're here in Kenosha, WI (just over the border). I have one sister in Gurnee & 1 in Lake Bluff & my Hubby works in Downers Grove......

It's great to see so many here from the area!!

Antioch here (far far north).
It's interesting to see how many others of "us" there are in northern Lake County... :cool1:

Southside of Chicago, near Midway airport here.

Tommywa,

You and I must be the two in the city limits.

It is odd too see all these people from the same area. Even reading the "Unofficial Guide to Disney" has people from Orland, and Naperville, etc.

I use Matt-son and my mom used Mat-te-son, but that sounds like Madison WI, so I stick with Matt-son.

Yes Frankfort and Mokena are losing the fight again growth. All the farms are disappearing, and the traffic is appearing. I miss the farms, the animals, and the peace and quiet, and the closeness of small communities.

I posted pretty early on in this thread. Born and raised in Chicago Lived closer to Wrigley. Barry, Clark and Halstead. Moved to Kenmore and Wellington. Lived Paulina and Grace. Now Irving Park and Kimball. One bus ride to Wrigley. Funny how you ask about Chicago, and you get all the surrounding cities and suburbs. Chicago was the birthplace of Walt Disney, we should all get free passes.

Hi Laceemouse,

I use to live in Naperville too after college. I love Naperville! It has a great downtown area. We always go there. At least you are in a great town here in Illinois, but I still bet you would rather be in Florida. My son just asked me, "When Daddy's done with his job can we move to Florida." I think my kids would be upset too if we lived in Florida and moved to Illinois. My kids keep wishing they lived in Florida. I do too!

I lived just around the corner from Wrigley from 83-86 (newport and cornelia). It was so wonderful to have our windows open and hear the crowd while watching the game. Parking sucked.... I think I paid more for my parking space than I did for rent! But in 84... Oh what a great year to be in Wrigleyville (last year too)

And as a note... the OP asked about ChicagoLAND....

We are in NW suburbs now - Palatine - and I work in Sears Tower..
