Okay - here's my story! We were on the Safari on our last trip - a family was seated behind us, a mom and dad and two teenage sons. Well the three "boys" start right in on the mom telling her to stop taking pictures of the animals because they were all fake. The mom seemed a little gullible, and fought them for a while, but then gave up until she saw the baby elephants (the real ones - not Little Red). She started arguing with them again because of course the whole truck was Ohhh-ing and Ahhh-ing about the babies. One of her sons says, "Jeez, Mom. Just coz all these people are falling for it, doesn't mean you have to." Then I hear a little one in the back of the truck asking her parents if the animals are real.
Well, DH digs his nails into my knee, but I turn around anyway. I tell the mom, that yes, the animals are real, and yes, those are real baby elephants. She says thank you, and both teenagers roll their eyes at me! Needless to say, when we went searching for poachers, these boys had plenty to say about my comments about things being real!
I wanted to clobber them!
