I'm listening to the first show on iTunes (7/25/06) and Pete references he is filling in for Gordon and Nancy. Who are Gordon and Nancy and did they run the podcast before Pete?

Gordon and Nancy were hired folks who "voiced" the podcast in it's first incarnation.

They were very nice but the format was not well received.

Shortly after that, it was decided that we would fill in for them until a new format was conceived.

The round table format proved much more popular and with tweaking here and there, it has stayed.

Thank goodness for that! I never heard Gordon and Nancy do the show, but I'm sure they didn't have that cool harp music and a prizematron!

:rotfl:

If you listen to those early podcasts, you can also tell that we provided scripts for them. (Not too much pressure. :scared: :scared: :scared: )

They do have very good "radio voices" but as Kevin said, the podcast became much more popular when it was switched to the roundtable format.

How do we get to listen those old podcasts? I don't see them on iTunes.

I did not know Pete was a script writer? :)

Nancy is/was a radio personality in Boston. Since I can't remember her last name I can't look up what station (if she is even there any more).

She had a good voice, but the podcast did seem awkward in some way - knowing it was scripted definitely make sense.

I'll admit, when the roundtable format started, I was a bit upset - not because of the format change, but because it was so gosh-darned hard to HEAR everyone...

Funny, I didn't know that I was a script writer either until I was told I needed to write copy for those podcasts. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I don't know where those early podcasts are. Maybe they'll become available in a commemorative box set that can be yours for only $19.99 (plus S&H.) Order now!! Quantities are limited. ;) :lmao:

I have been playing podcast roulette lately with my IPod and found one when you were in town Regina.. Glad to see you around.. we have missed you!! There are some great old shows there and Bawb had me laughing so hard I cried. I strongly suggest listening even to just a segment or two... they were and are still great!!
