Whitney Houston dead

TMZ is reporting that Bobby Brown left the Home-going because Whitney's family wouldn't allow his entourage to come with him. They allowed him to bring 2 guests, but he showed up with 9. Unbelievable.:sad2:

What an ***. Even at her funeral it has to be all about him. Unbelievable that he can do NOTHING for his child.

Bobby Brown was asked to leave Whitney Houston's funeral today ... after he got into an argument with Whitney's family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church with him ... TMZ has learned.

Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ ... but was seen leaving shortly thereafter.

According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We're told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party.

Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney's family was not having it.

We're told Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over ... but to no avail.

They should have let him sit his daughter

If he had shown up alone or with his plus2 that were invited none of the other crap would have happened. She is 18 and can sit with her father if she pleases.

Here my opininon. She choose to sit her grandmother and her mother friends and family. She made her decision. She okay with him not being there. Then we should all be okay with it.

I wonder who the nine people were that he brought with him, his other kids? His parents.

Can Bobby NOT count?

This is unbelievable to me.

Meanwhile, the outspoken Reverend Al Sharpton revealed he had spoken to Brown in an attempt to calm him down.
He tweeted: 'I am at Whitney's funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!'

He tweeted at the funeral? :sad2:

NO offense but why is her funeral on tv? I mean she wasn't royalty like Diana She was a great singer but she didn't transition through generations like Michael Jackson. What gives? If its invite only and private why did her family allow cameras?
I think the family allowed cameras because they wanted to keep the fans away from the church and the cameras were just throwing the fans a bone.

It also turned this into more of a performance than a funeral. I've been flipping back and forth. A few moments were touching, but most of what I saw was people showing off.

It could be argued that the whole royal thing is just silliness and that they do absolutely nothing to earn their status. They're just born or married to other royals. At least Whitney had some kind of talent.

There is so much crap on TV. There are two entire channels (at least) dedicated to Golf. There is room for whatever funeral people want to show.

My kids knew who Whitney was because I play her music a lot and because every year I say, "Whitney sang it better. I never saw anyone sing it better than Whitney" when they sing the national anthem. My brother once said, "OK, Kali, let's hear about how Whitney sang it better," as the singer was finishing up. "Well, she did." :)

If it hadn't been for me, the kids wouldn't know Whitney. But if it hadn't been for his criminal issues and freaky-weird pics in the paper, they wouldn't have known Michael Jackson, either.

His statement that today is about Whitney made me question who it was really about.

I didn't get to see Kevin Coastner how did his speech go?

He did a great job!

But by far, her sister in law and manager Pat Houston did the best, IMHO.

You can catch clips on MSNBC, and they have Costner's entire 17 mins speech clip on there too.

I still don't understand why Michaels was so huge & why the tax payers had to foot the bill.

Why tax payers paid I don't know only reason I can think of is it's California and they love their own.

I think MJ's was huge because he was huge. From my perspective: My mother was a little girl when the Jackson 5 came out. She loved them! There is roughly 28-30 years between my mother and I and I have the same feelings for him. I grew up listing to MJ but then feel in love when Thriller came out. I know many people with similar stories. He was generational. The molestation cases have long been proven money grabbing tries and I think his lack of education and naivety got him into many sticky situations but he was beyond talented and amazing and a giver. He loved his children and he loved to perform and entertain us.

It was approximately $1.4 million, which it outrageous considering Los Angeles was and probably still is $500+ million in the hole. The Jacksons, or Michaels estate should have paid for the law enforcement and security provided for the event. The mayor of Los Angeles even came out afterwards saying it was absolutely wrong for the tax payers to be footing the bill.

I actually found the service extremely uplifting. There was apparently just one shared camera in the church, which is why there was the same view, no side shots, etc. The individual testimonies are very common in many Baptist churches. Anyone can be invited to speak about their own personal experience with the deceased. I think it personalizes it. I didn't find it that much different from other Baptist funerals I have attended, except for the guest list. I wasn't impressed with Stevie Wonder's song for her however. I did LOVE Cece Winans song, "Don't cry for me" however.

Everything Sharpton does is about him.

Yup, and once again proves how obsessed and out of touch with reality America is about the concept of celebrity.

His family should have absolutely paid for that, as should Whitney's family.

Even us normal folks know what is appropriate to do in situations like this, but it would seem that celebrities and their families lose touch when it comes to matters such as these.

I thought the service was a nice tribute as well. It was positive in nature, and some of the personal stories were probably so well received as the people there really knew Whitney.

I thought a few of the performances weren't that great either, but lighting, audio and emotions could have had a play in that as well.

I agree, I thought it was a great tribute. I think the family allowed it to be televised because they wanted to share their church (the pastor thanked Cissy for "bringing the world to church"), they didn't want it in an arena. I just kept thinking it was such a shame no one could haved saved her from herself. Same with MJ. The warning signs were all there but in the end they didn't want help.
