Whitney Houston dead

Did Kevin Costner speak yet? That is the only part I would be interested in seeing. Thanks!

I just looked it up and I was wrong, I was thinking of when she said she attended a Catholic girls school..

I guess that list isn't in order.

I'm sorry, I think it is. That's Tyler Perry.

Is anyone going to watch the funeral today?

I am because one of my very good friends attends New Hope Baptist Church and is singing in the choir.

If people think that Whitney doesn't deserve the type of service she is being given, they don't have to watch. Personally, I don't cast stones upon people without considering that I haven't lived a "perfect" life myself. I believe that funeral celebrations are for the living.

Whitney did some great things in her life and she got caught up in and did some very harmful things. Drug abuse is very real and very hard to get freed from. I have a family member that was a crack cocaine user for years and one day decided that his life was going nowhere and he quit cold turkey and has been clean for 13 years now. He is an exception. It's not that easy for everyone.

NO offense but why is her funeral on tv? I mean she wasn't royalty like Diana She was a great singer but she didn't transition through generations like Michael Jackson. What gives? If its invite only and private why did her family allow cameras?

They originally were talking about having a large public event like Michael Jackson but her family said no, they wanted it in her home church. I think allowing it to be televised is a concession to her fans who could not participate in a public event. Why question their decision? No one is forced to watch it. It's on CNN & Fox but it's not on the networks. I'm sure there's interest, otherwise why are people watching it. I'm watching it, I think it's been a nice tribute.

Just seems a bit odd to have a private funeral televised.

I'm sure when Diana died it was invitation only also. I'm sure when Presidents died, it was invitation only. That doesn't preclude it from being televised. Again, why question her family's decision to allow her fans to see it. I'm sure CNN & FOX jumped at the opportunity, they probably requested it in the first place.

Thankfully they chose to go with the latter, because no county in the USA can afford the law enforcement and security that was associated with Michael Jacksons memorial service in this economy which was said to have costed LA $1.4 million, the city was and probably still is cash strapped.

TMZ is reporting that Bobby Brown left the Home-going because Whitney's family wouldn't allow his entourage to come with him. They allowed him to bring 2 guests, but he showed up with 9. Unbelievable.:sad2:
