Whitney Houston dead

Very sad.. I Saw her in concert in NYC in 1991. It was the first concert I ever went to.

It will forever puzzle me how a strong, smart young woman let a sleeze like Bobby Whowereyou? Brown bring her down. She fell in love, got caught up in the drugs and never made it back out.

I feel the worst for the daughter they had who, from what I've read, also has drug issues.

I don't care for Bobby Brown or Whitney Houston, but I find this statement just ridiculous. Were you there? You can't blame anyone for Whitney's drug use but WHITNEY. I wasn't there either, but I doubt he held her down and forced her to snort coke. Perhaps she wanted to "hold on to her man" so she did drugs with him. She was weak, and now she's gone. Deal with it, but save the blame game.

Whitney was into drugs BEFORE she got with Bobby Brown. Unfortunately they both had their issues, got together , and the drug problem grew. But her issues were not caused by Bobby Brown. They came into the marriage with their own demons that seemed to grow once they were together. So sad....

I don't understand the folks that are blaming other people, namely Bobby Brown, for Whitney Houston's drug addiction. No one forces anyone to use drugs, she chose to do so, and she chose to continue going back to using them time after time. She made a choice about the type of life she wanted to lead, and, probably, about the type of death she ultimately had. She was an adult, and she was responsible for the consequences of those choices.

Medical personnel usually stop CPR after 10 minutes. Most studies have shown that irreversible damage occurs when the brain has been deprived of oxygen for more than 10 minutes. 911 was called at 3:43, she was pronounced at 3:55. This certainly fits that timeline. Or the paramedics can choose to just pronounce her without any efforts to resuscitate her if they determined that the efforts would be pointless.

As for the body being left there for hours after her being pronounced, this was an unwitnessed, unexpected death. It is, therefore, automatically turned over to the medical examiner for investigation. With Houston being rich and famous and dying under such circumstances the LAPD are going to make sure every "i" is dotted and every "t" is crossed. It will be a crime scene until ruled otherwise.

I'm not really sure why this is a huge shock for so many. I really think it was more a matter of "when" not "if."

I totally agree!!!

She made the National Anthem, one of the most difficult songs to sing, look effortless.

I agree. Effortless is the first word that comes to mind. It's a very difficult song to sing and her rendition of it was magnificent. Whitney set the bar very high.

TMZ is now reporting that Whitney's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has been rushed to the hospital.

Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was just rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles ... TMZ has learned.

According to our sources ... Bobbi was taken out of the Beverly Hilton, where Whitney died yesterday, on a stretcher.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ police and fire responded to a call for a medical emergency, but would not confirm who was transported.

Bobbi Christina is Whitney's only child from husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married in 1992 and divorced in 2007.

Story developing ...

There was reported cocaine abuse LONG before she met Bobby Brown. She was a huge pop star (and model prior to that) that had a squeaky clean image but that didn't tell the story of what was going on behind the scenes. The commonality of drug use probably brought the two together.

That I didn't know. I thought she went downhill after marrying him. So sad that she could never get it together. Girl, you did have it all.

O.K., now the story of what happened is getting even stranger.....

Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was just rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles ... and it's her second trip to the hospital since her mother passed away last night ... TMZ has learned.

According to our sources ... Bobbi was taken out of the Beverly Hilton on a stretcher (see photo above). It's the same hotel where Whitney was found dead.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ police and fire responded to a call for a medical emergency, but would not confirm who was transported.

According to our sources, Bobbi Kristina went to the hospital last night as well, but was not transported via ambulance. We're told she was "hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable."

As TMZ first reported, Bobbi Kristina got into an angry shouting match last night with police officers outside the hotel room where her mother was found dead.

poor girl.

A report that I read said that Bobbi Kristina had a few alcoholic drinks (keep in mind she's 18) to calm her down and when that didn't work, some of Whitney's people gave her a sedative, that mixed with the alcohol caused her to pass out and why she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

Glad to see those folks out in Beverly Hills learned their lessons about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

I was shocked to read that Tony Bennett who performed at the Pre-Grammy show last night made it a point to say that the government should legalize drugs to avoid what happened to Whitney but yet it was all prescription drugs that they found in her hotel room and those same prescription drugs are what her people are now giving her daughter :sad2:

Wow, they are giving her drinks and drugs. Wow, I pray that there is someone stable that girl can turn to.

Tony Bennett that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. To me that would only cause more deaths.

He's an idiot. He mentioned Whitney, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson, and said the solution is to legalize drugs, like Amsterdam.
So, in his world, people with addictive personalities would just stop with a little bit of drugs if it was only legal?
Whitney--legal prescription drugs and legal alcohol.
Amy Winehouse (if I remember right)--the effects of stopping drinking after years of abusing it.
Michael Jackson--having his own supply of legal anasthesia (propofol)
I think there would be even more addicts. Of course, I haven't researched the paradise that is Amsterdam. Maybe Tony Bennet should move there. Or maybe he's just getting dementia. If I remember right, he made some stupid comment about the World Trade Center disaster last year.

Sounds like she was surrounded by a bunch of geniuses. I'm so sorry for Bobbi Kristina's loss. She needs people around her that aren't watching her drink and giving her pills.

What in the world was someone with Whitney's drug history doing with a Xanax prescription? That stuff can be very addictive. Maybe Tony Bennet should be speaking out about all the yes men/women and doctors that watch/help these celebrities self destruct with drugs and alcohol.

Any idea where I can find mention of that? Because all I can find is that she had a good image and work ethic until the late 90's, after she met Brown, and that that's when it all went downhill. I'd be interested in seeing something definitively reporting she was doing coke before hooking up with him. I saw where they state she probably was using pot, but nothing on coke and heavy alcohol.

I don't know much about drug usage, but I can't image she was so successful and doing drugs like she had been and still been on top
