Definately do the nachos!
The atmosphere was nice and it was practically empty when we went there for lunch on a Sunday. I got the beef nachos--wasn't really impressed, personally, but I don't know. I don't THINK there was a French Dip on the menu because I know myself and I would've very strongly considered it if there was one, but I don't remember having any such indecision. My travel partner got a personal pizza (which she said was "OK") and it came with a salad--the CM would not give her any discount for not getting it! My travel partner hates salad, so I got to eat the salad too.

This is similar to our experience there too. So many people rave about WWS and while it was okay, it wasn't this great meal like i was expecting. OP, don't get your hopes too high that this will be a really great meal. We had the nachos and the french dip. We weren't impressed by either one. I make nachos at home that are SO much better than those (if i do say so myself) and I'm spoiled by the fantastic french dip sandwich i can get at the Elephant Bar. I don't know - we just didn't get what all the fuss was about.
I can see how it is a great place for people staying at the GCH or for anyone else who wants to eat away from all the noise and crowds of the parks but the food is lacking. The food was okay but not anywhere near good enough for us to want to go back. Now, my sister always raves about the chicken sandwich at WWS but I've never tried it myself.
I'm not trying to argue with those of you that like the food there. I just wanted to give the OP a different viewpoint.![]()

What would you suggest that would comparable food wise to WWS that would be better, etc.
Jack
Nice to know I'm not the only one not impressed by the nachos at WWS. I am NOT a fan of cheese food sauce on my nachos. I want REAL cheese on nachos. We had some other stuff there that was pretty comparable to any where else in the resort that we've tried - we just like the quietness and the lack of hustle and bustle if we are feeling overwhelmed by the crowds or noise at DL or DCA.
I'm one of the peeps that chimed in the WWS is a hidden gem, but oddly enough, I don't disagree with you.
For us, approximately 90% of the food at DLR is either just OK, or fairly bad. We have to lower our bar when we are at DLR, so the standards we would use anywhere else don't apply.
Our last trip (December), we stayed at PPH, and we tried the Lilo and Stitch buffet because we didn't plan well and really didn't have much choice for breakfast. Well, the food (by our standards...sorry if I offend anyone) was bad, and the service was worse (the waiter, not the characters). And, we paid $70 for the three of us, which seemed outrageous...my husband is the only one of the three of us that actually really ate...I had a mini bagel and some scrambled eggs (I also grabbed a piece of the teriyaki salmon which was inedible). My daughter had a Mickey waffle. We just aren't big breakfast eaters and are really not buffet people.
We had PS for Goofy's Kitchen for the next night which we promptly canceled after our Lilo and Stitch experience but I'm kind of veering off topic. The next morning, we tried out WWS and were thrilled that we could order a simple item off the menu, and we got out of there for under $30.
So. You're right...the food is nothing to really write home about, but it was quick and easy and for us, just about perfect.
If by comparable, you mean other CS restaurants then I would say that the sandwiches at Riverbelle Terrace are among my favorites. The turkey sandwich is made with real carved turkey, not deli meat plus it comes with some sides and they have a nice condiment bar to load up your sammy.Other favorites are chicken and veggie skewers at Bengal BBQ (although i heard someone say recently that they lowered the quality on the chicken so not sure about it now) and DH and I really like the ribs at Taste Pilot's Grill. They're a bit pricey for CS so we split a 5 rib meal. Full throttle fries are also really good there but haven't tried them since they switched to "regular" fries. We tried the cheeseburgers at TPG because of rave reviews we heard but we weren't impressed - they were just regular theme park burgers so it's disappointing to us Red Robin regulars.
I also think that Carnation Cafe and Wine Country Trattoria are priced fairly reaonable and I really like the food at both of these restaurants. The meals don't cost much more than CS, although then you have to pay tip of course.
Does that answer your question?
Yeah, not a fan of cheese sauce on "real" nachos either. If I was at a ballgame or something I would be fine with cheese sauce but not at a place that is trying to serve something a little fancier with all that extra stuff piled onto the nachos. We also don't like how thick the chips are. We like the thinner ones better.
Yes, I can see how you would be impressed at WWS after having that buffet experience for that price. I do like the location of WWS so I'm not against trying it again but there are just other places I would rather eat at.
