After living here for 4 years we are finally doing a 'surprise' overnighter and have decided to try whitewater snacks. can't find a menu anywhere!!!! Any help would be gladly appreciated!!!

WE LOVE WWS. Last trip we ate there 4 times while staying at the GCH. Good food and very convienent.

We love WWS too. I had to pull my husband's arm to try it last time we were there and then once we did, he admitted that it is a hidden gem. Good food, reasonable portion sizes, and it was one of the only meals that we could get out the door for under $75 for.

We also love WWS! Does anybody know if they still have the french dip sandwich? It was SO delicious and I don't see it on the menu.

They changed the menu a few months ago so the French dip might be gone. We went at Christmas and I had the cheeseburger as I always do. It was not the same cheeseburger they served in September. (I had three of them that visit.:)) And I don't mean that in a good way. Quality was wa-a-y down.

DH had chicken sandwich, though, and he liked it. Guess it's hit or miss now, like most food at the DLR.

OK now thanks for all the great info and the menu bless you on that one sonnyjane.

Now where in GCH is it located. We walk through the lobby leaving DCA to go to the tram so Is it heading to the right and around by the pool some where???

I appreciate the help and the Likes and dislikes..
It is just we have AP's and usually take our own food, but I am splurging this time as we are using left over vacation money from our trip to Hawaii and we got 3 disney gift cards for Christmas! Gotta love those friends!!!

Map: Bottom right, next to the pool!

DCA is on the right in the helpful map posted above--you can just come in from DCA and then in theory follow the signs. (I totally missed the signs but luckily my travel buddy was there and saw them.)

The atmosphere was nice and it was practically empty when we went there for lunch on a Sunday. I got the beef nachos--wasn't really impressed, personally, but I don't know. I don't THINK there was a French Dip on the menu because I know myself and I would've very strongly considered it if there was one, but I don't remember having any such indecision. :flower3: My travel partner got a personal pizza (which she said was "OK") and it came with a salad--the CM would not give her any discount for not getting it! My travel partner hates salad, so I got to eat the salad too. :)

We did see the cat though, so that was awesome. (She (or he?) snubbed my nacho meat though...)

Hopefully someone else can get you some more details!

We love WWS too! The nachos are soo good! My daughter loves the tuna salad out of the cooler.

IMO those maps are a bit confusing. To me, the easiest way to get there is definitely through the GCH entrance in California Adventure over by GRR and the Redwood Forest trail. You just go through the turnstile, walk straight until you basically dead end and turn left. The restaurant will just just ahead on the left. Easy-peasy. :)

This is similar to our experience there too. So many people rave about WWS and while it was okay, it wasn't this great meal like i was expecting. OP, don't get your hopes too high that this will be a really great meal. We had the nachos and the french dip. We weren't impressed by either one. I make nachos at home that are SO much better than those (if i do say so myself :)) and I'm spoiled by the fantastic french dip sandwich i can get at the Elephant Bar. I don't know - we just didn't get what all the fuss was about. :confused3 I can see how it is a great place for people staying at the GCH or for anyone else who wants to eat away from all the noise and crowds of the parks but the food is lacking. The food was okay but not anywhere near good enough for us to want to go back. Now, my sister always raves about the chicken sandwich at WWS but I've never tried it myself.

I'm not trying to argue with those of you that like the food there. I just wanted to give the OP a different viewpoint. :goodvibes

What would you suggest that would comparable food wise to WWS that would be better, etc.

Jack

Nice to know I'm not the only one not impressed by the nachos at WWS. I am NOT a fan of cheese food sauce on my nachos. I want REAL cheese on nachos. We had some other stuff there that was pretty comparable to any where else in the resort that we've tried - we just like the quietness and the lack of hustle and bustle if we are feeling overwhelmed by the crowds or noise at DL or DCA.

If you want a slightly different take on nachos - try the lobster nachos at the Cove Bar. Check the hours, though, because when we were there in Nov. they weren't open except on weekends. That is another nice place to sit and get away from the noise of the crowds and they serve their food on real plates with metal eating utensils and real glasses. :thumbsup2

I'm one of the peeps that chimed in the WWS is a hidden gem, but oddly enough, I don't disagree with you.

For us, approximately 90% of the food at DLR is either just OK, or fairly bad. We have to lower our bar when we are at DLR, so the standards we would use anywhere else don't apply.

Our last trip (December), we stayed at PPH, and we tried the Lilo and Stitch buffet because we didn't plan well and really didn't have much choice for breakfast. Well, the food (by our standards...sorry if I offend anyone) was bad, and the service was worse (the waiter, not the characters). And, we paid $70 for the three of us, which seemed outrageous...my husband is the only one of the three of us that actually really ate...I had a mini bagel and some scrambled eggs (I also grabbed a piece of the teriyaki salmon which was inedible). My daughter had a Mickey waffle. We just aren't big breakfast eaters and are really not buffet people.

We had PS for Goofy's Kitchen for the next night which we promptly canceled after our Lilo and Stitch experience but I'm kind of veering off topic. The next morning, we tried out WWS and were thrilled that we could order a simple item off the menu, and we got out of there for under $30.

So. You're right...the food is nothing to really write home about, but it was quick and easy and for us, just about perfect.

If by comparable, you mean other CS restaurants then I would say that the sandwiches at Riverbelle Terrace are among my favorites. The turkey sandwich is made with real carved turkey, not deli meat plus it comes with some sides and they have a nice condiment bar to load up your sammy. :) Other favorites are chicken and veggie skewers at Bengal BBQ (although i heard someone say recently that they lowered the quality on the chicken so not sure about it now) and DH and I really like the ribs at Taste Pilot's Grill. They're a bit pricey for CS so we split a 5 rib meal. Full throttle fries are also really good there but haven't tried them since they switched to "regular" fries. We tried the cheeseburgers at TPG because of rave reviews we heard but we weren't impressed - they were just regular theme park burgers so it's disappointing to us Red Robin regulars.

I also think that Carnation Cafe and Wine Country Trattoria are priced fairly reaonable and I really like the food at both of these restaurants. The meals don't cost much more than CS, although then you have to pay tip of course.

Does that answer your question?

Yeah, not a fan of cheese sauce on "real" nachos either. If I was at a ballgame or something I would be fine with cheese sauce but not at a place that is trying to serve something a little fancier with all that extra stuff piled onto the nachos. We also don't like how thick the chips are. We like the thinner ones better.

Yes, I can see how you would be impressed at WWS after having that buffet experience for that price. I do like the location of WWS so I'm not against trying it again but there are just other places I would rather eat at.

Thank you for posting this. We have eaten at the the listed places and have found that all are about the same, just different selections, which appeal to different tastes. A great meal to me is Ruth Chris, Mortons, SS55. We do love WWS because we really have never had a bad meal. When we stay at GCH it was so easy to pop in, get the food and go.
