White or Brown Rice --whats your pref?

Basmati with curry and brown rice with everything else. When we get Chinese takeout, we toss the white rice that comes with it and cook our own brown rice.
 
Neither. I've never liked rice. Which is ok since we're doing low carb. I make cauliflower rice sometimes if I make stew or something.
 
I prefer brown rice, I love wild rice also. White rice is fine, but I prefer brown when I have a choice.

What about adding broth makes it more healthful? Not snarky, honestly curious. Chicken broth doesn't have a whole lot of nutrition, if I recall.

I am a brown rice eater. I have several varieties of brown rice in the freezer - jasmine, basmati, sticky, and medium grain.

Gosh, can't even remember where I read it, but it was years ago. I don't think it was really along the lines of nutritional benefits, more like general health and immunity stuff, cause Chicken broth is good for warding off colds and flu. stuff like that. Anyway, I love the way it tastes when i add it to the white rice.

I know brown rice has more fiber but I just can't train myself on it. I really don't like the taste at all. Trained myself on wheat bread and now I'm working high fiber cereal without all the sugar the Kashi stuff isn't bad so far. But the brown rice I'll have to do without.
 
I prefer white, but know brown is better I use it in recipies when I can "hide" it.

Try making brown rice in chicken broth! You might begin to like it yet. :) I do like the flavor of rice cooked in broth.

I like other whole grains better than rice. If you like brown rice, try wheatberries, bulgar, barley, kamut, or any of the other whole grains served with things like stir fries or curries. Yum and lots of texture.
 
I don't like rice a roni or fried rice.

I eat steamed rice at chinese resturants.

I prefer brown rice to white, so if it's just me I eat brown rice (both plain and made with chicken broth though the broth actually adds sodium and fat to the rice).

At home we have white rice lovers but I mix the two together and that makes everyone happy.

I'm ambivalant about wild rice.

I do make plain white rice if I'm going to be using it for breakfast.
 
I like both - but I tend to have the white rice around more often.. Also, some of my recipes just don't taste as good with the brown rice in them.. :goodvibes
