I like some white noise while I sleep, as I am a VERY light sleeper. We will have our toddler in the room with us also, and my husband snores. I'm afraid his snoring may wake the baby.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what I can bring on the cruise to use for this? With only 2 plug-in's and no large machinery allowed, I'm not sure what a good option for me would be. I'd hate to be cranky for my relaxing 4 nights.

TIA ;)

Do you have an ipad? There are several free apps that might do the trick for you. The one my son likes was Nature, but there's a Waves and a Rainfall one, too. You can set a timer to turn off. I think you can also wake to some of them. So you set the app, leave it on and your ipad turns off, except for the sound.

^ This is what we do. NoiseBox or White Noise, both for iOS.

So long as the screen is turned off, a fully-charged iPhone or iPad should last all night with either of these apps running, with juice to spare in the morning.

I can't recommend a white noise effect, but there are more than two outlets in the rooms.

2 on the desk, one on each side of the bed, and one behind the TV at least. Some rooms have more.

We will be bringing both our kids i-Pads, as well as our iPhones. So we have 4 devices all together... I'm surprised with them running all night, the battery doesn't drain all the way down? Does the screen just "goto sleep"?

The battery drains, but not nearly as much as you'd think. Of course, it will vary based on how high you have the volume cranked.

The iOS devices should turn off the screens automatically after a few minutes of non-use, or you can just toggle the screen off manually with the Sleep/Wake button. Either way, the white noise will continue.

Well you won't have to run all 4 all night!
You only need to have ONE running to drain out the snoring of your husband, unless he is like a train!

You also may find that your kids are so exhausted that they sleep like literal babies along with the slight side to side rocking motion

We've only ever used them while plugged and charging over night, so I don't know if it drains the battery. Yes, the screen goes off. You turn it off. Unless you actively stop the app (or have it on a timer), it will continue to play while your device is in sleep mode.

If you have a verandah and the weather cooperates you can open the door a bit; the waves make great white noise.

Unfortunately, we didn't opt for the verandah this trip.

I tested the White Noise app, and it is awesome! It will totally get the job done! Thanks everyone!!

Speaking of... If we want to leave the room with phones charging, will we need to leave a card in the "light switch"?

No, that just controls the lights, not the outlets.

I second the use of the Anker USB hub. It comes with us on every trip.

Don't know for sure, but, generally, it's not a good idea to leave things plugged in, charging with no one in the room.

I look up white noise on you tube and run it on my iPhone every night. I leave it plugged in and it's great! I'm listening to a thunderstorm right now getting ready for bed.

But on the ship you are paying for wi-fi access and your cell data plan will not work.
