White Chocolate Glass Slipper

I just ordered ours for July 7th!!!!!!

I started this thread after seeing the slipper on the Disney Paris Resort special on the Travel Channel. I am SO glad you DIS boarders knew about how to get it at WDW. I am FINALLY going to get to try this.

Thanks! It won't be long now!

I ordered the slipper/ teardrop plate for my Grandaughter and the dog bones plate for my Grandson.
Both were personalized with their names.
They were served after breakfast at 1900 last week.
Our server brough out a special placemat and served them in grand style.
Well worth the price just to see the faces of the kids...age 7 and 2.5.

This is def. something I want to order for our first night in WDW. However, we're both pretty picky eaters. I'm more adventerous, he's a meat and taters type.

I'm not sure that 1900 Park Fare is our style. Characters? Do you sit alone, or with others? (Its two of us) Are there other who go to enjoy the food, with less interest in characters?

Are restaurants at GF willing to make slight changes? I.e. regular not sweet potatos if they come with a steak or the like? I'd PS Citricos perhaps.

Any thoughts appreciated!!

At 1900 PF you will be seated only with your party. There are characters. The food is good--for a character meal buffet.

At Citrico's they are happy to make substitutions such rice instead of potatoes, baked instead of sweet--as long as they have what you are looking for on the menu. DS has often gotten mashed there instead of whatever the starch listed with the entree was. They'll also put sauces on the side, etc.

You might also want to consider the GF Cafe. More casual than Citrico's but much better food than 1900 PF. THey will also substitute.

On June 16, we ate at 1900 Park Fare. Tuesday, I called to order the slipper for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. After some time of being transferred around, I finally got the right place. They took the order, I think it was GF food services, but not for sure. They asked what I wanted on the plate, so I had them put Happy birthday Abby (the 17th was her birthday). We had a wonderful waiter at the GF, Michael. He arranged for Cinderella to be at our table when he brought out the slipper for dessert. It was magical for our daughter. She had no idea. The dessert is simply to die for as well!!! And it only cost $8.00!!! That was a bargain considering Mickey Bars are $2.50!

I have a ? . ************* you said you had them at GF cafe, Did you have to make a ps for there? I have a ps made for 1900 for breakfast but I was wanting to cancel because we have TOO many PS's. But I was wavering because I REALLY want one of these slippers. I thought maybe if we went in at like 3 and had tea and the slipper forme and the dogbones for dh and ds it would be fun for me.
Thanks, Jacqueline princess:

We just had this at the GF Cafe last week. It was very nice. I ordered it a week before and checked on the price (was told $8).

When I got the bill they had charged me $14 a piece. I questioned the charge and they said the price just went up, but since I was quoted $8 at the time I ordered it they adjusted my bill.

So I just wanted everyone to know that it looks like this will cost $14 each for now on.

As much as I dont like it, thanks for the info, westjones. :(
I was just getting ready to call and order 3 of these and 1 order of dogbones for next Sunday. At that price I have to think about it. I cant see DH agreeing to spend 56.00 on dessert...and I cant say I blame him. Im so bummed!

I would still call and check to make sure that is the new price. That is what our server told us, but it was very easy to get the price adjusted based on our quote.

If you call and ask the cost, and they quote you $8, then make sure to tell them that is you are billed another price.

DJ

(I would have only ordered 2 of these at $14 each, one for each of my girls and then DH and I could just taste them. I only ordered 4 because of the $8 price. They are really cute.)

Yep, you are correct, westjones. We called and were told $14.00. Thats quite an increase. But, we cut our order down to 2 slippers and 1 dog bone, and are scheduled to pick them up on Sunday.
The man we spoke to said to pick them up in the lobby. Anyone have any idea where in the lobby that would be? Im guessing 1900 Park Faire, maybe at the podium?

It is a really big increase. What a shame! I don't know what lobby they mean, you may want to try the GF Cafe (there is a small lobby area there) because it seemed less crowded than the 1900 Park Fare area. It seemed to me that our server had to 'go' somewhere and get it, so maybe if you just go up to either of these restaurants and tell them what you want they will be able to get it for you.

Enjoy!

So you can actually put an order in for the Glass Slipper dessert? You don't actaully have to eat at the GF? That would be just great! I really want one! I'm not really a big dessert eater, especially chocolate, but I just want one just to say that I had one! I'll eat a little bit of it of course, but then my BF will eat the rest!

Question....anyone know anything about some type of glass slipper drink at CRT at MK? I hear it's a type of drink in a glass that you can then keep!

I know you do have to order it in advance. We were going to see if it could be delivered to Mizners Lounge or Gasparillas Grill, as we dont want to eat a full meal. We are eating at Beaches & Cream first, then taking a ride around the monorail for drinks and snacks. However, when we asked if it could be sent to the lounge, they just said to pick it up at the lobby. Im sure we will find it...I should be able to hunt down white chocolate anywhere. ;)

Has the price for the Dog Bone dessert stayed the same or has it increased to $14 also??

Thanks!
Katie

The drink at CRT is like a smoothie. One time we had orange and one time we had strawberry. The glass has Cinderella's Royal Table on it. It's a nice glass. And if you order it at the end of dinner they will bring you out a new glass wrapped up and in a box. I can't believe they raised the price of the Slipper. Oh well we are still going to have them at 1900 Park Fare next time.

Did yall hear about the new cake? They are doing the miniature wedding cakes with the white chocolate castle on them as desserts now. You have to order them through the GF Bakery. But they are $25/cake.

Mama Kate, our total came to $42.00 for the 3 items, so Im assuming the dog bones went up too.

Well that doesn't seem right.

I could justify the price for the slipper dessert, because that is a special order that isn't on any of the regualar menus, but the Dog Bone dessert is a regular kids dessert at Citricos ($6).

I was going to order the slipper for my daughter & the dog bone for my son at Garden View Lounge, but now I may just eat at Citricos, so at least I can get the Dog Bone for a cheaper price (I've always wanted to eat there anyway).

Thanks!
Katie

Thanks for pointing that out. Ill have to look into it. I wonder if they upped the price at Citricos too.

I'm so bummed about such a huge increase, almost 50%! I wonder why? Is it so popular now? Is it so hard to make?

I didn't even get to order mine for August and now I don't think I will. THe increase is just too much for me.:(

I got the slipper and bones for my Grandchildren at 1900 PF during breakfast in June...they were still $8.00.
It's nice...however not $14.00 nice.
Basically the only thing eatable is the very small amount of chocolate mousse in the slipper and the teardrop.
You can eat all the chocolate if you want ...we did not think it was good.
The bones are eclaires filled with pudding.
They are somewhat overated and now Disney is taking advantage on the pricing.
Can you say "Boycott."
We all have opinions and these are mine.
Thanks,
Linda
