Planning our June trip meals. We usually always do Trail's End but with the change to family style, we looked at other options and Wow - Whispering Canyon is amazing. Looks like breakfast and lunch are a single menu, which we are hoping that means we can get burnt ends nachos and a meat skillet along with our breakfast skillets. And the price difference is only a couple of dollars for what looks to be a much much better meal. And forget Trails' End for dinner. It was always our must-do but absolutely no way. Not having fried chicken and ribs as standard on the menu is a crime. So hopefully Whispering Canyon is our new fave!!

Our very first Disney World meal was Whispering Canyon and we really enjoyed it! I hope you have a great time :-)

I went to Whispering Canyon years ago and found it meh. However considering all the recent raves and given that my beloved must do every trip Trail's End is kaput I'm willing to give it another chance.

Are the antics still happening in any form (at Whispering Canyon)? On a scale of 0-10 (0 as absolutely no antics - 10 being their wildest in history), where would they fall right now?

When we were there in November our waitress was hilarious. One thing that sticks out is we finished eating and my DH mentioned to her that we had eaten at 50’s PTC for dinner the night before and a big deal was made about me because I cleaned my plate and got a sticker. Our table was in the back jutting out into the lobby and she grabbed his plate and lifted it up and starting banging on it to make noise and was calling for everyone’s attention where she made an announcement about him cleaning his plate.

I think it probably depends on the server. We got no antics, but we also had a reservation at the end of the night, so that could be why?

We always enjoyed Whispering Canyon Cafe. Good food & pretty views out the windows. Just going into the Wilderness Lodge lobby is breathtaking.

Not staying at WL is probably my greatest Disney regret at the time. I really love it when I've been in there!

I was just walking by a couple weeks ago and a server was having a good old time with her guests for all to see and hear. She was dancing and carrying on, and you could hear her from across the lobby. I'd like to have her as my server next time I'm there.

The menu online has breakfast and lunch listed together. If you come in the afternoon, is it really breakfast and lunch combined? That would be fantastic.

Any updates to the meal quality of these two. Will be camping there in late August and thought I would give trails end a swing. I actually hate buffets usually because they never taste great to me so family style is maybe slightly better but similar. My wife is interested in breakfast foods but we usually dont pay for that meal when traveling. So breakfast during lunch at whispering canyon is interesting. I have a 2 year old also with us. What do you recommend? May try lunch at whispering and dinner at TE but considering dropping one especially if we can maybe do Hoop De.

This has definitely changed since I was there in February. I'm wondering if it's a Disney IT glitch. I certainly wouldn't count on lunch at breakfast or breakfast at lunch until we have confirmation that they really are combined.

Went July 2021. Whispering Canyon for us was very fun. Glad we did it, and the value by Disney standards was good.

The skillets, both meat based and non meat based were excellent. We left overly stuffed but that's our fault.

Our waitress was just o.k.

The tap water was truly terrible. It was like bad well water. Sulfer, bad taste. Couldn't believe it. I recommend asking for filtered water, or bottled water.

I recommend giving it a try once and see what you think.

I was also there in February, and they definitely had the combined breakfast/lunch menu then.

Tap water was bad at Trail's Inn or Whispering Canyon?
I think I recall it not being so great at Whispering canyon. Last time we were at Trail's End was with friends, Christmas 2019 and it was still a buffet. Don't remember what the water tastes like. We drink the tap water from the supply/tap at the campsites and it was fine. Disney property is really weird when it comes to water. It can be bad like at the Magic Kingdom, and fine at the campground. I guess it just depends on what part of the aquifer it comes from.

We just got back from Copper Creek and had one dinner at Whispering Canyon. The service was really good but the food was pretty bland. They do serve a lot of food when you order the skillet (and get seconds) but it is a lot so-so food.

Whispering Canyon. It was on a whole different level than normal Disney tapwater like at MK. It was truly terrible. I should have said something and asked for some sort of filtered water. Besides that the food was excellent, and having the restaurant off the atrium of Wilderness Lodge was cool. Gave us a reason to check out the resort
