I've got an ADR for WCC at 5:15 on the only night that Main Street Electrical Parade is on during our vacation. The parade starts at 7. Will we have enough time to eat and get to the parade? How early will people line up for the parade? What time does WCC start serving dinner? I may have to cancel that ADR, though I really wanted to go over and see the Wilderness Lodge.

Commuting to MK is going to take time. WCC is a great restaurant and with an early ADR you may be able to get out in an hour. But you will feel rushed and will be watching the clock. I would try for an ADR in Chrystal Palace in MK - that way you don't have to worry about commuting. Good luck.

it might be a tight squeeze since WL is not on the monorail you will have to catch a boat to the MK. Can you move it to a lunch there instead?

Dinner at WCC usually starts around 5:00 pm, so there isn't much of an earlier time you can get. As others have said you have to catch the boat from WL to MK and that is about a 15 minute ride, and depending on how long you have to wait it might take a while to get to MK.

The only thing going in your favor is that I think the parade runs from Frontierland to Main Street, so you might have a few minutes leeway (from when it starts to when it reaches Main Street).

I really doubt you'd be able to get through dinner, catch the boat and make it into the MK in time for the parade, without feeling really rushed. You'd have to eat really fast (if you try, probably the best option is to only have an entree - skip the appetizer and dessert or order the dessert at the same time as the entree and have it "to go").

(For reference in December, we had a 5:05 pm dinner reservation at WCC and made it back into MK at 7:30 pm.)

I agree with the other posters - that's cutting it way too close. I would change the ADR to another day and time or just forget about WCC if you want to see MSEP.

MSEP runs Main St - Frontierland, so no extra time there either.

That's how the MSEP parade ran when we were there in Dec. 2010...

We took the boat from MK to Whispering Canyon...The boat ride was quick (10-15 min?) but we waited about 30 min. to get the boat. We were seated right away for dinner but you never know...

Estimating on the safe side... depending on how long you wait to be seated, how long you eat, how long it takes you to catch a boat... I'd say you would get into MK somewhere between 7:00pm and 8:15pm. I doubt you will make it on time...

5:00pm Arrive for dinner
5:15 - 5:40pm Get seated
5:40 - 6:40-7:10pm Dinner
7:10 - 7:15pm walk to boat
7:15 - 7:45pm wait for boat
7:45 - 8:00pm arrive at MK
8:00 - 8:15pm walk to MK entrance and get through bag check and turnstile

I'd suggest getting there a little before they open so you are seated right away. Then, don't take the boat - take the bus instead, much faster. :thumbsup2

Edited... Thought about taxi, but taxis don't go to MK, only to the Transportation and Ticket Center...

We ate their on our last trip and I don't think you would make it. We had an ADR for 5:20, but we were early and checked in around 5. They seated us pretty quickly, but we still weren't done until about 6:45. The service wasn't slow either, but we did have dessert and the kids enjoyed the horse races and dancing the hokey pokey.

Oops sorry about that...proof that sometimes my familiarity with DL gets in the way at MK. At DL the parade loops the opposite direction by Guest Services (i.e., heads towards Guest Services and then up Main Street, which is the opposite at MK).

If you take a taxi, you might consider asking the driver to take you to the Contemporary instead because then you can walk to the MK. Otherwise, the taxi will take you to the TTC and then you have to catch the monorail or water ferry over to MK.

You could always take a taxi to MK. We got a taxi quickly at Wilderness Lodge to go back to our resort. It can't be more than a 10 minute ride... and I'll guess about $10-15 for the taxi fare...

But the taxi's drop you off at the TTC and you still have to either catch the monorail or boat over to MK.

We have never waited more than 10 minutes to get a boat from WL to MK and we have stayed there for 2 trips. You don't want to feel rushed though. If you think you will be done eating by 6:15 you should be OK, but again you don't want to fee rushed. You can see the parade as soon as you enter the park but you won't have a "great spot" without people in front of you if that matters.

In '07 we ate at WCC after Spectro. We had a 9:30 ADR, Spectro was at 8. We watched the parade, then saw Wishes from the boat on the way over and were 30 minutes early for our ADR. If you can eat late, make an 8:15 or so ADR and you'll be fine.

Thanks for all the information--I knew people on the DIS would know! I think I'll either cancel or push it later. I'd rather miss WCC than MSEP, and we have 1 more reservation that TS credits anyway.
