How does the DDP work at Whispering Canyon?

The all-you-can eat skillet meal is 22.99/person. However - they also serve appetizers, desserts, and individual entrees.
If you order the all-you can eat skillet meal...do you still get an appetizer and dessert?
We're trying to figure out how much our DDP table-service credit would be worth at this restaurant.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

Went to Whispering Canyon last year on the DDP and ordered the all you can eat skillet. Had appetizer before and dessert after.. It was great! Just don't forget to ask for the ketchup, :rotfl: or another drink! Have fun!:goodvibes

The salad, which is part of the skillet meal, is considered the appetizer.

Sharing the skillet is not allowed, which means one person can't order it with one TS credit and then continually refill it for others at the table. Anyone who eats from the skillet is charged a TS credit, much like a buffet.

Its a great meal; I loved it!

Ok - to clarify:

Whispering Canyon is not like Ohanas where your all-you-can eat choice is your appetizer, main dish, and dessert all in one?

You appetizer, dessert, and all you can eat skillet are all covered under one credit of the DDP?

When we were there in February, the salad was considered the appetizer and then we had dessert.

I didn't think it made sense that the salad was the appetizer since it comes with the skillet, but it's so much food that I really would not have wanted an appetizer.

What happens if you ask for ketchup or another drink?

The skillet meal is actually the appetizer AND the main course (salad, then meats/sides. You can still order a separate dessert to complete the credit.

Everyone in the place is called upon to give you their ketchup or a straw! It gets a bit crazy but it is really fun!!!!!

Not the best place for me. It's not the kind of humor I appreciate from the waitstaff and I happen to like ketchup. In my family it's a food group.

At lunch, the skillet doesn't come with a salad, yet still no appetizer is allowed. It's a puzzle. :confused3

I've been able to order dessert and both lunch & dinner.

This is what I got when I requested a refill::rotfl2:

Good. That's just about what I can drink during a meal. Couldn't quote your lovely picture as I haven't reached my 10th post until now. Go figure not letting you quote a link. :confused3

This is a blurry picture, but you can make out all the ketchup bottles

We were there last October, and the salad wasn't the appetizer, I ordered the nachos as the appetizer. What a difference a few months make! What would anyone think if I ordered the steak, and my child ordered the skillet on the DDP, and we switched? I wouldn't plan to refill anything on the platter, just eat what was on his plate and have him eat my steak (which he really likes). Do you think that would be wrong?

We had dinner there this past December. 3 of us ordered the skillet. The salad was the appetizer, and we ordered whatever dessert we wanted off the menu. There is sooooo much food with the skillet I don't see how an additional appetizer would be needed!!

The waitress actually did this for me in Febuary, I was planning to pay for steak for him since he wanted that and just keep his credit, but she said that was stupid since I was getting the skillet, and just charged him as the adult and me as the child, I really thought that was great, He is an adult now so it does not really make a difference for our August trip... Funny thing is I then ended up with an App because one came with the steak :rotfl:

I'm so looking forward to our dinner (in just over one month now!) at Whispering Canyon. I'm planning on - :rotfl: - telling our sons to all order LARGE drinks! I've read what they'll get, and look forward to watching their reactions. It'll be one of those classic moments and I'll have the camera ready to capture their "P-O'd" faces. :rotfl:
