Does anyone know if they do the fun stuff at lunch or is it only at dinner at Whispering Canyon?

Although we have not been there in the last year or so.....they do some fun stuff but mostly with the kids.....but for dinner.....it is great.....and make sure you ask for ketchup!

Had breakfast there in August and it was hands down our favorite! Yepper, fun stuff @ breakfast!!!

I attached a link for the menu at whispering canyon is you scroll to the bottom of the page it talks about some of the fun stuff they do. Have a grea time!

When we were there last week there was ketchup already on the table but a few people had the HUGE refills. There were some sing alongs & it was pretty loud. I think it's probably nothing compared to dinner though.

We like breakfast there and it is fun! Free milkshakes as your drink with the DDP too!

I have heard that they don't do the "antics" as much during lunch as during dinner.

We strongly disliked our meal there. We tried a lot of new restaurants this past trip and this was by far the worst. In terms of food quality, it was one of the worst meals we've eaten anywhere. We all got the skillet for dinner, and virtually none of the food was edible. The ribs were full of fat and cold, the potatoes and corn were cold, the lettuce was completely wilted and tasted rotten/moldy. The milkshakes weren't even mixed. We ordered chocolate and had a vanilla shake with a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top. Our waiter never refilled our milkshakes even after being politely asked (twice).

We found the service to be extremely slow even though the restaurant was not very crowded (late dinner). After check-in (we had an ADR) we waited with our buzzer for over 45 minutes. We finally went up and asked when we would be seated. They then brought us to a table. It took another 45 minutes to get our food after ordering.

We did not care for the "fun". The ketchup thing might be funny one or two times, but while we were there it was going on continuously. We're talking 20+ times per hour primarily with 3 different families who seemed to be having a ketchup war. There were kids literally running around with glass ketchup bottles dropping them all over the floor. It was a miracle that none of them broke! The atmosphere was extremely loud. So loud that you couldn't hear the person next to you. The waiters/waitresses are CONSTANTLY screaming across the restaurant. Not once or twice; every time they speak to a guest or each other. They are perpetual screamers.

We didn't enjoy anything about it. For me it was like imagining every possible annoyance that can happen in a restaurant, and recreating it all in one place. That's Whispering Canyon for you. :rotfl: For small kids it might be something to try, but for us it was definitely only a one time thing.

We went for lunch in June. It was a nice break from MK and the food was good. I was disappointed with the antics though. I asked the same question on the boards before I went and got good responses. I was surprised when the only fun thing I saw at lunch is when my husband drank his drink rather quickly and our waitress brought out a huge glass for a refill and said "This is for your drinking problem!" The kids enjoyed that.

We did ask for ketchup and nothing happened. Well, we did get a ketchup bottle.:rotfl2:

We were there for dinner and didn't receive any of the antics, however the larger party next to us with our same server did. I'm wondering if it's because we were just my BF and I with no kids and maybe she didn't get the "silly" vibe with us. My BF asked for a straw and he did get 6 of them, and he asked for more soda and just got a regular refill. Asked for ketchup and got a bottle. The party next to us got several bottles of ketchup and huge jug of soda for a refill.

Headed to the World in March and this is one restaurant that my entire family does not want to revisit. We did not care for the food at all and the antics were pretty lame! Mostly it was the blah food! Hope you have better luck!

We have an ADR for Whispering Canyon next week. We have never been there and wanted to check out the resort. After hearing mixed reviews here and other places, I am not so sure I want to fork over my dollars!

We love WCC!! Have eaten there multiple x, sometimes it is way louder and crazier than others. Our food has always been great! The ribs are a toss up, sometimes they are great and sometimes not so great! But, the chicken and pulled pork are the BEST! Love the potatoes and salad too! This is one of the places my kids always ask to go back to, my ds favorite meal in Disney!

I was there for breakfast last week week and there were lots of antics. I would imagine it is more a matter of how crowded the restaurant is than the specific meal being served.

We went for dinner last week and my BF is a BBQ aficionado and he said it was good. He ate his whole skillet. I am not a BBQ fan so I got a pasta dish and did not like it. If you are going for BBQ, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's also worth the trip to check out WL. After visiting WL, I think we might stay there next time :thumbsup2

It's me, the OP, and we ended up going last Tuesday. I never made an ADR because my hubby couldn't decide if he wanted to or not. So on Monday night we decided to try to get in for dinner and just showed up around 8pm. They said there was a two hour wait.:scared1: I said forget that and we went back to CBR and ordered a pizza. We decided we would see if we could get an ADR for lunch the next day, thinking this may be impossible considering the wait time the night before. However, we were able to make one for noon the next day. When we got there there were maybe 4 other families and during the 45 minutes to an hour only about 2 or 3 others came in. It was very empty. I was surprised.
As far as the silliness, there wasn't a lot. Surprisingly, I was thankful for that because I was enjoying the quite scenery. The food was GREAT! My hubby got the skillet and LOVED it. I got the pulled pork sandwich and thought it was delicious (and I am a Southerner who knows her bbq)! The only thing we didn't like was the kid's cheeseburger. My not so picky son would not eat it. He said it tasted funny. I think it was just one of the normal burgers sold throughout WDW.
Overall, we would give it an A+!:)

Glad you liked it! It was one of our favorite places. It surprised me how much we liked it.

Our ADR was at 8:15pm and it was packed. We didn't get seated until about 8:30. Everyone must have the same idea - head there for a late dinner after you're done with the parks. Glad you liked it!
