I just got off the phone with Disney Dining and the CM there told me that dinner at WCC is more fun than lunch because the CMs do more at dinner.

I don't see why there would be any difference in the level of craziness. Any experienced WCC diners out there who can shed some light on this?????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

We went for lunch and let me tell you-there was no fun. :sad2: Nothing. Dead. We were so disappointed. The food was ok but there were no antics of any kind. And I had spent weeks, even months, telling DH how much fun this was going to be. . .:confused3

When we stayed at WL we could see/hear the difference between lunch & dinner. Lunch is not as busy and is much quieter. If you want the "antics" that you've heard about, I would highly recommend a dinner ADR :goodvibes

Dinner was more fun for us. Lunch was much more laid back and quiet. We have been several times for dinner and twice for lunch. Last time we went for dinner was 2 weeks ago and we had a blast. Our server Geno was great!

I am so bummed by this information but I guess it proves the CM right!

I just canceled an early dinner in lieu of a lunch because we'll be spending the morning in MK and after our afternoon break heading over to HS so I'm trying to keep from doubling back from our resort (POR)! It could waste well over 2 hours in travel time!

I agree...

DH and I have had dinner there that was SO rowdy, we asked to sit in the 'back room' the next time.

We went for lunch last year, and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Very little going on, but there weren't many other guests there, either.

So were there any "antics" at all? I'm wondering what would happen if you egg them on with some of the suggestions that people have posted.

I did see a family across the restaurant get seated, and the waiter threw down a bunch of straws, and was cutting up with the kids.

But there wasn't any of the normal hullabaloo that I had seen before. There really weren't enough people in there to do the "KETCHUP!!!" thing, and no races/dancing/teapot singing etc. simply due to lack of other guests.

We're eating there with a 4 year old this year, and I'm hoping that we can make our own magic, and I'm sure you guys can do the same. I mean, if I have to get up and stick-horse race with her, I will. I can sling a bandanna around in the name of fun!

I don't think any one meal time is better, I think it depends on which castmembers are on the shift when you are eating.

That's probably the case. Even breakfast was full of "antics" the one time we ate at WC.

We have eaten there several times for both meals. Dinner is usually a bit more rowdy than lunch or breakfast. Have a good time!

It may just depend on what server you have. We found the server can make a big difference in the dining experience.

I misread the original post..oops. I thought you were comparing Chef Mickey to WCC and I read too fast.

If you want the antics, make sure they sit you in the main dining room, we were sat in the outer back part (there is about 10-12 tables there) and nothing went on there. Waitress and Waiters acted normal. The little boy beside us asked for ketchup and the waitress brought him a bottle. ( I think he was disappointed). In the main dining room when we were leaving, someone asked for ketchup and everyone started hollering and running around. We didn't mind being the quiet section because we were there for the food not the antics. Just didn't want you to be disappointed. By the way, the food was great. My family would drive back to Florida just to eat there again (and it's a 9 hour drive).

Well now I'm thinking it may have something to do with the time of year as to whether or not there are any "antics" at lunch. I just got an email from a friend who did lunch there over the last Christmas holiday and she said they had the pony rides and everything...but that was during the holiday season. I have a 1pm ADR that I'm now not sure I will want to keep. I wondered why it was so easy to get!

To me, WC is similiar to Prime Time because the fun depends on your server. When we went the WC last year, our server didn't play around but the server for the other table had a blast with them. Almost made me want to request to be at that guy's table. And we went during early dinner hours. I won't go back just because I can't be certain we will receive the interaction that would make it fun. (The bad thing is - I did everything I could to get her to play the part - but she wasn't having it.)

I can't speak for lunch because it wasn't availabel when we went, but Breakfast and Dinner were very comparable. You see the same pranks being played and it's still loud and all that. The thing you have to remember is each server is different. Some are more vocal than others! With that in mind, all have been a blast for us. I recommend dinner and a tall Bud Light draft!
