Tell me all about it.... food.....atmosphere....

Also is it 1 credit on the DDP and how do I get there if we don't have a car.

The menu (platter and milkshakes) looked good but trying to decide if its a place to try. We are a family of 5, me, dh, dd 9, dd7, ds 2 :confused3

Hi,

There's a thread a little farther down the page titled:

Whispering Canyon Cafe is baaaccckk!

To get there take Disney transportation from any park to WL; another way is to take a taxi from another resort directly to WL.

It's been several years (2000) since we have been there but it is oue favorite TS. The atmoshere was very fun, the servers tease you have fun with the kids, the food was wonderful...it's more of an experiance than a dinner. I highly recommend it if it is the same as it used to be. It was the only TS that my daughter who is now 16 wants to go to again!

We've always thought the food was pretty good. We're not food experts, but the food was always hot, fresh, and there was always plenty of it. I also agree that it's more of a dining experience. My kids love all the fun that goes along with dinner.

Can I get some Ketchup???

I'm planning on doing WCC on my next trip in August! I've been there twice before and we had great servers, a very fun atmosphere, and really good (and a lot of) food!

Are you staying on Disney property? If so, let me know which hotel and I can tell you the best way to get there by Disney transportation.

We love WCC. I'm taking DG3 and DD16, my DD25 (mommy to DGS3) will be coming up the day after me. Can't decide if we should wait for her and S-I-L to go or just go without them. As far as transportation is concerned. If at a Park please use Bob P's advise but if you are going from your Disney Resort take the bus to MK and then switched to WL's bus. If you have time to spare take the water Launch to WL from the entrance to MK's security. WCC is very fun. A few years back when we stayed at WL we ate there many times during that trip.

What type if antics, is it funny or rude? One of my dd's is kind of shy and very sensitive. I would hate for her to get her feelings hurt (like I think 50's primetime would be very close to upsetting her, by telling her to eat her veggies)

Also I was thinking about doing WCC after a MK day, How would this work? I'm not sure I realized there was a boat to WL from MK... I had thought about doing Ohanas that night but my dh doesn't really want to do that so I was looking for another suggestion easy to get to from MK...

We ate there for the first time last August. I would of never known about it if I wasn't a Dis member!

My oldest did the pony ride. They had fun with the ketsup but they didn't want to transport it to other tables.

I dropped a fork & I stole my 2 1/2 yo's for fear of the 'big fork'.

My husband loved the food, he got that platter thingy.

I was thirsty so they gave me some water that my then 2 1/2 yo stole from me (and yes I did drink most of that):

I plan on going back there in 2012.

We could care less about the antics (we had none, but would have participated if there had been any). We personally hated the food and won't be going back. But you should try it yourself.

For us it has always been great BUT they just got rid of the Mac and Cheese for the kids so we cant go back as much as we like it............

There are a few ways to get there if you dont have a car. Go after you do the MK take the wl/fw boat and it will drop you off at the wl boat dock. (THis would be my first choice) You can walk to CR as soon as you leave the MK take a left and walk under the monorail and end up at the CR go to the CR boat dock and take the boat to the wl. You can take the WL bus. We liked the WCC the food was good and if you have little ones the cm there will have wooden pony races around the tables. It is very loud and noisey this is part of the experience. It is worth a trip just to see the wl. Also if you go dont forget to ask for the ketchup:laughing:

You might look for Samantha Browns WDW show on cd ( travel channel host) she does a show about the WL and WCC it will show you what it is like.

Well, I told them it was my brothers birthday one year, and she stopped everything - thinking she was going to sing happy birthday to him.. NO - she embarrassed me because I was trying to embarrass him and I had to gallop around the restaurant on a wooden horse!

But yes, the best way is to take the boat from MK to WL

It is a DEFINITE must for us every trip. We always go on our MK day and take the boat to WL. Your family will love it and the food is Awesome.

Be sure to ask for Ketchup and a large drink. We got the refillable milkshakes....they were goooooooood!
My son has food allergies and the chef there was so awesome! He kept coming back to check on ds and even went and got him one of those Itzakadoozie popsicles for dessert!

Nothing beats the chicken and masked potatoes......for me its always a long wait becuase I need the chicken well done but the always do what we ask and its nice when the chef brings it out himself...............
