We will be going to wdw Nov. 8-17, just two adults staying at POP, and don't want to spend too much money or time on restaurants so right now we have three planned. We want one in MK and right now it's looking like LTT for supper our last night there before MVMCP. We also are trying to get a good amount of food for our money. California Grill is our splurge and it sounds like the fireworks from the deck is nice. Whispering Canyon Cafe will be a lunch and my DH is looking forward to the skillet thing. Are these choices good ones or are there better ones that we haven't considered?

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. This may be our one and only trip to the world and I really want to make the most of it, it's my dream.

Have been to WCC and LT and thought both were very good. WCC is a lot of fun. Haven't been to CG so I can't comment on that but it sounds nice there.

Sounds good to me. I think even though CG is a splurge you will enjoy it!

We enjoyed WCC as adults. Our server was awesome and we had a great time. Cali Grill is beautiful and though I haven't been there in 8 years, I remember loving our dinner there. We weren't fond of LTT, but many people on the board are. I will say it was perfect as a 'pre MVMCP' dining spot. We went in as the bulk of the crowd was still there and when we got done with dinner it was time for MVMCP.

We did WCC and it was our least favorite of the trip. However, my dad was the only one to get the skillet and didn't dislike it as much as the rest of us did. We were seated wayyyyy in the back away from the action and our server was never around. When she was around, though, she wasn't very interactive like the other servers we could hear/see around us. I didn't like my vegetable enchilada, but my dessert was good (I forget the name right now but it was a cinnamon/banana thing). Anyways, I think you should request a table in the main dining room and hopefully you will have a good experience!

I've eaten at all 3. My only comment on WCC is that as an all adult group, we did not get much interaction with the cast members there, especially at lunchtime--they concentrated mostly on the tables with children.

We like LTT although lots of people out here say it's like Stouffers. I guess we like Stouffers because we've eaten here 3-4 times and have always enjoyed it.

CG is one of our favorites. It is expensive compared to the others you have selected but it's got a very eclectic menu and should be a treat. Also, there is often a wait time for your table here. Last time we went, 2 months ago, we waited 50 minutes past our ADR time before we were seated.

Also, just an observation, you have all 3 of your planned meals at MK or the MK area? I'm assuming you are planning to spend a lot of time at that park as opposed to the others?

I hope you have a marvelous dream come true vacation there. Every trip is magical but there's nothing like the first one.

Thanks for all your input! Are there any other restaurants you think are must does? If there was one restaurant you would recommend to someone what would it be? Keep in mind Charater meals are not important to us at all, just the food!

Those are all good picks -- and we are eating at them all on our upcoming trip as well!! :cool1:

If you are eating at LTT before MVMCP, make sure you make the reservation early enough so that you don't miss the party. We are eating at LTT before MNSSHP this year and our ressie is at 4:55. We made the mistake of having it during the party one year (i think our reservation was at 7) -- ended up taking FOREVER to eat and we didn't get out until the 1st parade was half over, so we missed a lot of our time.

Have fun!! :goodvibes

My 3 must dos:

Boma at AKL
Kona Cafe for breakfast (the Tonga Toast!)
Flame Tree BBQ in AK

DH must do Biergarten...the kids and I aren't so crazy about it, but it's a must do since DH doesn't ask for much :goodvibes
We do like WCC, but have not been to the other 2 so I can't comment on them.
I hope you have an awesome trip!
