My family and are eating at WC for our first time. I'm concerned about what I will eat. Will they let you order a la carte? Will they let you order off the lunch menu for dinner? I don't mind paying more at dinner time, there are just more options for me on the lunch menu. I just don't want to get a whole bunch of food there is no way, I'm going to eat. My son will want a burger too. I didn't see that on the dinner menu. I'm so looking forward to eating here--it looks like alot of fun. I just don't want to get stuck drinking a milk shake, while everyone else pigs out:lmao:
Thanks in advance!!! DIS people are the best!!

I've never done it personally at WCC, but I would bet 100 to 1 that they will let you order something off the lunch menu. I think Disney is great about this. If for some reason what you want isn't available, I'm sure they would make you something to your specifications. I wouldn't worry about it, go and have fun!!!!

BTW, I'm a nicu nurse and my DH doesn't like Disney either!

I had the gastric bypass surgery in December and went to WDW the end of January... they were wonderful about it... actually the rest of my party was on the dining plan and I was not... it took talking to many supervisors but we were able to do it. For meals I just ate off their plates or order and appetizer... at places that were a buffet.. like O'Hanas I just paid for the child size meal. I had a card from my doctor that asked that I be allowed to order from the childrens menu. I also went in May with no problems. That time I just bought the dining plan and ordered what I wanted and just ate what I could... it was hard to see so much food go to waste but I managed fine. I am going again next month and am planning on just ordering kids meals again... no dining plan.... Disney is great about it....

Like the PP, I read elsewhere on the DISboards where a recent Gastric Bypass patient WAS allowed to pay the children's price at a buffet at WDW. Like mentioned, if you explain your situation, the CMs are more than willing to work with you. Also, anyone can order off the regular children's menu (no special dr's note needed). So, that might be another option where they are offering the same item, just a smaller portion.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Thanks for the advice--I didn't know I could order off the kids menu! I do have a card from my surgeon too. Good to know!:thumbsup2

i know i am not much help...but i just had the band and all i can do is dream about the short ribs and grits at WCC. lol...

bring your medical card and you should be fine with the menu issues.

Whispering Canyon is not a buffet. They have an a la carte menu with one all you can eat selection. You may order whatever you want off the a la carte menu. You can most likely even order a child's meal, as long as it is not the skillet - so the lap band notification will be relevant only if it's the skillet you want. I do not know if you can order the all you can eat skillet and pay a child's price. We have conflicting information as to whether AYCE at Disney will honor a lap band notification.
