We have ADRs to LeCellier in July. I was just speaking with a guy from work yesterday about this. He and his family just returned from WDW about two weeks ago. He was talking about making all the ADRs and asked if we were going to LeCellier. I said I was and he said that the food was excellent! He would definetely go back there. Now I am excited to go and see for myself. Someday I would like to try the Yachtsmen too. I like to try all the different restaurants.

If you are interested in steak, it's not even close. Le Cellier has lots of fans on here (which I have never understood), but Yachtsman is far and away a better restaurant. Better cuts of beef, great service, wonderful ambience and a great wine list. As a result of all this, it's more expensive than Le Cellier, but well worth it.

Le Cellier has a much nicer atmosphere...Food for us was about equal...DH loved his steak at both...I don't eat steak but I loved what I had at both places...But think the Yacht is just not worth 2 credits...You get more "bang for your buck" at Le Cellier.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a special more "adult" night out with amazing food and service, go to the Yachtsman. If you are looking for a decent steak a cozy steakhouse atmosphere and more casual attire, go to Le Cellier.

We are going to give Le Cellier another try this year. We went there several years back and had a really bad experience as far as the service went. I don't know what the waitress was thinking, but she certainly wasn't focusing on the guests or proper service techniques. At this point, I am pretty sure that she is long gone from their waitstaff.

I think that instead of the food, you should focus more on the experience that you desire and what you are willing to spend on that meal and the experience/memories.

Yachtmen's is a must do for us. We've gone to Le Cellier several times but it was not as special as Yachtmen. It was more casual atmosphere but the pace of the meal was very fast (they need to get you in and out). We love to take a reservation at Yachtmen at the last seating and have a leisurely dinner. The food is fantastic and the service staff is one of the best onsite. If you must do Le Cellier do it for lunch.

Yachtsman's is more of a real steakhouse experience, while Le Cellier is a park restaurant that happens to serve a pretty good steak. I agree with the previous post that said it is based on what experience you are looking for, but if you are just comparing the two, I would vote Yachtsmans.

I voted Le Cellier. My whole family LOVED it when we went there. The server was so enthusiastic and educational. The food was delicious. We all tried something different. I would definitely go again.

We have eaten at both and they are both are good but if I had to choose I would pick the Yachtman...the filet was amazing, the service was better than top notch, the onion flaky rolls with roasted garlic and sea salt butter was a so much better than the pretzel breadsticks and the lobster bisque is better than the cheese soup any day.

Ditto what madalex had to say. Not even close -Yachtsman all the way. Much better food, service and ambiance. This is comparing a high end steakhouse to a theme park restaurant.

We've done both. We would chose Yachtsman because its by far the better restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service are outstanding. LeCellier is fine, but just not in the same category as YSH.

Can anyone explain about tipping at the Yachtsman, do you tip the matri'de or the wine server (for example). Or do you just tip at the end?

I voted for Le Cellier. Yachtsman is the one TS Restaurant in WDW we will not return to. We have tried it sseveral times. In our (minority, I know) opinion it is a beautiful restaurant, the ambience is wonderful. The service was top notch, the Onion Rolls were wonderful, but other than that we do not like the food at all. We (DH and adult DS and myself) have tried different things and we have each been disappointed each time. The food is just NOT GOOD.
Have a Great trip

Tipping at YSH is no different from any of the other WDW restaurants. Just add the tip on the bill when you pay it.
