We have the option of going this year around June 18-28 or August 13-23.

Which would you choose? We'd be using YES tickets, driving, and staying offsite, so none of those are a factor. I guess I'm really just wondering about crowd levels and if there are any special events planned for any of those dates?

June has more crowds. I prefer Aug. less crowds. I live in FL s the warm humid would not bother me.

I've been there in mid- to late-August quite a few times. Go in June.

The weather will be pretty much the same - hot, sticky, rain every afternoon.

The crowds will be slightly larger but not much. Remember, free dining begins in mid-August and many people who don't have kids in school yet will choose to wait until then to visit. You can definitely expect the restaurants to be more crowded as a result.

June has longer park hours. That means that they will open earlier, before it gets too hot. And they will stay open later, after the sun has gone down and you can enjoy the parks without worrying about sunburn.

June has the Sounds Like Summer concert series in Epcot and Star Wars weekends in the beginning of the month. August has no special events on the schedule.

The weather will be hot and miserable either way. I can handle hot and less crowded way better than hot and crowded so I'd go in August. Many kids will be back in school by your dates.

We are going Aug 13-24 this year.
(Also doing YES classes. Maybe we'll see you there :upsidedow )

We have never been in August before, but our oldest is in HS and it's too complicated to miss school so this works best for our schedules.

I'm really not looking forward to the heat. DH and I both grew up in FL so we know what to expect. I would prefer to go at another time, but we're still really looking forward to being back at Disney :goodvibes

Actually, this year free dining starts later-- after the dates the OP mentioned. Also, the other summer deals end around the 14th. Perhaps since these two weeks are left out of all the special offers the parks/resorts will be empty. ;)
