I would cancel the limo and take a cab if its possible. I would cancel San Angel Inn if I had to pick. I wasn't crazy about the food.

This has to deal with both restaurants and transportation so Im not really sure where this should go...but anyways, heres my problem. Some things came up and we are now gonna be a little short on our disney trip in August. So it's gonna have to come down to either cancel our limo transfers to from airport and hotel or cancel a couple TS places. Now we already are set up with Disney Magical Express, I made sure to set us up with that just incase something like this happened. If we were to cancel our TS places, here are the places we would cancel and it would be all of these. Theres no way we would be able to keep any of these TS places.

Ohana - breakfast
LTT - dinner
Donalds - breakfast
San Angel Inn - lunch
Restraunt Marrakesh - dinner

So which would you cancel? Limo transfers or ADRs?

No question cancel the limo!

I thought you had to use DME directly from your flight is why I was thinking it would be easier to get on Disney property the first night. I didn't know you could use it the next morning even if you had been at the Hyatt--I thought you were having to take a limo service because you were at the Hyatt and couldn't use DME.

I just thought if you were already onsite, you can go on to the parks the next morning and Disney will transfer your bags from one resort to the other. You could go on to the parks and check in after lunch, OR take a cab from whatever Disney resort to the one you're checking in at, and check in before you go to the parks for a day (if you're wanting to check in early). You could take the luggage in the cab with you or let Disney transfer it. The resort will hold it till your room is ready.

I guess I'm already figuring you're cancelling the limo and I'm trying to get to Disney property in the most economical way (time and money wise).

How much is that limo service if you have to cancel 5 meals to pay for it????

Paying for an expensive limo ride when you've got free ME doesn't make any sense at all to begin with, but then again, neither does staying at a $200. per night hotel if your budget has now been reduced.

Personally, I would ditch the limo AND the 2 breakfast buffets. Spending $60. each day for 2 adults to eat breakfast?? :confused3

The OP said the hotel would normally would be $200, they got a military discount rate for $99/night.

I think the buffets will cost them more like $50 a day for two adults (Tax and tip included) as the buffets are generally about $19/adult aren't they?

Maybe it is a choice between limo and DxDDP or something. Though I'm with you on the budgeting. I'd rather stay at a Value and get an extra day in the world than break my budget at one of the more expensive resorts. :)

Well the thing is that I booked my trip and DME and the limo before I even changed my flight to arrive the day early. So Disney still thinks that we are arriving on the 5th and not the 4th. I already talked to my AAA TA about this and as long as Im still taking DME on the 5th, Im good. But I've heard also from others that you still can take the DME the day after you get there, cuz others have done it. They would get in the night before, stay at a nearby hotel by the airport and take the DME the next day. So no, you do not have to take DME as soon as you get there. You can take it the next day. From what my AAA TA told me Disney just really needs to know what days you need DME and what time your departure time is to go back home and thats it. IMHO the best way in my position, is to stay at the Hyatt and then take DME to AKL the next morning. Instead of having to take DME to a disney resort, and then the next day figure out how to get to the other resort and have Disney deal with my luggage. Honestly I dont even know what the big deal is. So we're staying off property for not even a whole 12 hrs, so what? :confused3 We're not even doing the parks on Day 1 anyways. We're doing DTD and/or staying at the resort.

Its $240 round trip. Its about $320 for the 5 meals, but then we would have to turn around and allow $30 for each of those meals for CS.

All prices include tax and tips
'Ohana $47.00
Donalds Safari Breakfast $45.00
San Angel Inn $58.00
Liberty Tree Tavern $69.00
Restaurant Marrakesh $104.00
TOTAL $323.00

5 CS meals x $30 each = $150.00

PRICE DIFFERENCE = $173.00

The limo is $240 but we can come up with the extra $67 or if need be cancel 1 more ADR.

There is no big deal, everyone here is just trying to help you. It seemed as though you didn't want to use DME and the time that takes the next dayor you wouldn't have booked a limo in the first place, is why I was trying to answer that,

I think you have your answers, 100% have responded to cancel the limo and not the ADRs. And you know how you want to get to AKL the next day. I think the PP who mentioned $200ish a night was referring to the cost of AKL for a night.

I see no draw to riding in a limo, and enjoy eating, so I'd nix the limo in a heartbeat.

Teresa, this is a personal decision. What matters the most to you? I have watched you plan this trip for a long time and have seen you plan your ADR's with care. Do they matter more than arriving in a Limo? What means more in your vision of your trip.

For me, the limo would go, I love ME. In my family ME means we have arrived and are on the way to Disney. Arriving in a limo means nothing to us. We like our meals TS specifically. You need to decide which means more to you, we can only give your our priority.

Okay, here is what I would do:

I would cancel the limo AND the Hyatt, and book an extra night at AKL. Take the ME directly to AKL, and then you can sleep in and enjoy the resort in the morning since it was going to be a resort/DTD day anyway.

The limo is $240, the Hyatt $100 so that is $340 (not including any tax or tips to the limo driver, unless they are included in the price you gave). AKL is $200, so you have now saved $140 off your original plan and you don't have to get up early, get to the airport for the bus, etc.

Now, I would also cancel a couple of the ADR's if you needed to save more money, probably the breakfast ones because you and hubby could probably get a CS breakfast for less than $10 each, or you could pack muffins/bagels for breakfast in the room and save yourselves another $60-$100 (depending on if you were going to eat in your room or counter service).

On the other hand, I completely applaud your idea to save yourself $100 off the hotel cost by spending the first night at the Hyatt, since you would basically arrive at AKL in time to go to bed, it might be an option you want to explore.

I think she said that AKL is booked the day before their package begins, or that would work.

OP, I clicked on your pre-trip and read a little, so now I understand a little better. I didn't realize how long your trip is and that you do have other TS adr's. I think if the limo makes this trip more magical then do it, since you have been planning it so long. You have lots of good adr's made that you can keep even if you cancel the ones you listed here. Also, I may be mistaken, but I think you can add DDP as late as check-in and pay the difference then? Somebody else know for sure? If that would help.

I would nix the limo and replace it with a towncar. We always arrive by towncar, it is much cheaper than a limo, and you can make a stop at a grovery store on the way to stock up your hotel room with goodies for when you're there. We save a lot of money on park breakfasts by having some bagels and fruit in the room, and we have beer/cider/wine and some cheese and crackers for latenight snacks, as well. It's the way to go!

See how I slipped in a Plan C on you? :)

Yeah but if we did DME and did the Hyatt it would be only $111 (incluing taxes). Thats still cheaper then 1 night stay at AKL. ;)

I figured it out and the DDP would save us only about $200 and that is if we ate lunch. Lately my appetite has been REALLY messed up and if it keeps going this way I will be hungry just enough for breakfast and dinner and thats it. And thats with me being in AC all day. So me being in the sun and heat for about 4-5 hrs before we even eat lunch could take away my appetite all together. DH would prob eat lunch but me I could just buy a water and maybe a snack and I will probably be set. So that right there would save us a lot of money considering our lunch total is coming out to be $358 for DH and I. So in the end we could end up saving money by NOT being on the DDP. Also that $200 difference includes weither or not we will eat snacks and also buy desert. If ate lunches, deserts and snacks, then the plan would save us $200. If not, most likely we would save $ by paying OOP.

As for adding the DDP, you can add it on I believe up to 5 days in advance. You CAN NOT add it on when you go to checkin.

I think she said that AKL is booked the day before their package begins, or that would work.

It is fun to 'arive' at your hotel in a cool limo, but the cost is rather high considering you can also get there for free.
We usually get to Orlando late too and after a long day of travel we just want to get to the hotel and go to bed, does not matter where it is. So we usually stay at a hotel close to the airport that offers free transportation- get a good nights sleep and the next morning get our free ride back to the airport and go check in for ME, after we have had our free breakfast at the hotel that is... We arive at WDW refreshed and ready to get started on our vacation, not all tired and dragging from traveling all day.
So I say if you will enjoy eating at the places you listed then keep the ADR's and cancel the limo- you will probably get more enjoyment out of relaxing with the meals than the limo ride.
You got a great rate at the Hyatt- that will be nice to get off the plane and step right up to your hotel.
Enjoy your trip no matter what you choose.
