I voted the 22nd-28th since we'll be there on all those days, but we're actually leaving WI on the 18th and driving down over the course of 2 days. So technically we'll be in WDW from the 20th-28th, but our official vacation starts the 18th - 29th.

We're staying at All-Stars Sports ... DS' 6th birthday is on 8/6, and our 10th anniversary is on 9/30, so this trip is part annual vacation/part birthday celebration/part anniversary celebration.

Your dates sound identical to mine, we are heading down from NY by train on the 20th, our stay is from 21-28th, but outside of Disney. It'll be 23 hours by train so we leave on the 20th & get there on the 21st.

We kept one of our trips a big secret until the morning of; when we woke our kids at 5am and told them, "let's go to Disney today!" - priceless.
We're scheming this trip in August as a surprise as well.

On the subject of when, usually we take them out of school in Sept., but this year we're testing the last week of August. It will be very hot still (yuck!), but then again, with fingers crossed, the crowds will have lightened some what from earlier in the summer.

That's an awesome idea! It would never work with my kids. They would think they could wake up any day and we could just go. That would cause neverending days of whining in my house. Hope your August trip goes well.

My family is going Oct 7th thru Oct 16..14 of us and the kids don't know either. We will tell them the morning of also. Can't wait to see their faces!!!!

I have to chime in here too....I already voted - going the first week.

We are spending a week in VA and then instead of driving home (North), we are just going to start driving South to Disney!! Haven't decided whether to tell them when they wake up to go home after their VA vacation or to just start driving!

I LOVE this kind of surprise but OMG it is KILLING me already!!! (Luckily I only booked in June so it hasn't been that long to wait!)

My family and I are there from August 2 - 11 at CBR. My son and I need to enjoy this one because my wife is adamant that she wants a cruise next year .

We are taking advantage of free dining [counter svc] but we have reservations to our must do's - Biergarten, Ohana, and Boma.
