Which week in September?

This may be a ridiculous question but we are trying to decide between the third and fourth week of September 2012 for our visit. We've already booked the third week but may want to switch. Think it makes any difference? I think both trips will have MNSSHP dates and we don't care about free dining. The third week has a Jewish holiday in it that gives my niece and nephew two days off from school while the fourth week they will have one day off. My mom says it may be cooler if we push it a week later, but I don't really think it makes a difference? Am I missing something that would make you favor one week over the other if you had these two options to choose from?

Im not sure weather will be affected that much by which week, but have you checked if theres any events or conventions going on those weeks? i believe theres a sticky or thread to find any conventions going on, this may help with crowd forecast when you go. just a thought, sorry i cant be of more help!

on a side note though, whichever week you choose, september is a great time to visit. not too hot or cold, generally low crowds and mnsshp + food and wine festival! have a great trip!

We're looking into going the last week. This might be a little busier due to the new Tower of Terror 10 mile race on the 29th, and that weekend is also the beginning of food and wine festival (which is why we are choosing that week), but honestly, I can't see either week being all that busy with the exception of Epcot over that last weekend.

Wiating a week won't make a difference in the weather. Sept is hot usually at WDW. Summer hot. Dripping sweat hot. Doesn't matter if it's the first week or the last. Luckily this year on 10/1 a nice cool front blew thru and brought down the temps and humidity but we did not get one break before that in the heat.

I would go w/ the 3rd week b/c of less crowds. The clower to F&W time you get the more crowded the parks will be.

I'm guessing you are in Cherokee County??? I live in Henry County and our week got push back to the last week in September this year. Not sure what that was about. Usually we have the 7th week off after they have been in school 6 weeks but for some reason they push it back a week. But compared to Sept. 2011, their break started on Sept 12th and and this year it will be the 24th. We have never been to Disney that late in the September. Fingers crossed that it is about the same as earlier in the month, maybe a little cooler,lol

Oh I see, I remember when cobb county had the balanced calendar. Was it only like for one year and they took it away?? Do you know why they took it away?? We have had the balanced calendar for as long as my daughter has been in school and she is in the 7th grade. We love the calendar, free dining and low crowds in Sept. I did not know that Paulding County had a fall break in Sept. I know that a few counties around me have their fall break in Oct.

Yes, we only had it for a year. The teachers and students/parents loved it. It was approved for 3 years but a new school board came in and yanked it away last March (I believe) which was still the first year we had it. Lots of people were upset.
