Which week in December would be the better week??? 2nd thru 11th or 9th thru 18th...We always go during pop week well at least the last 3 years and were planning the same thing this year but with christmas late in the week this year when will crowds start building and is it still a quiet week like pop week...Any thoughts?

Ive been a few times first week and once going through the 17th and never noticed a growing crowd. One thing I did find though was that when we stayed later in Dec - Xmas was just too much of a rush. I much preferred going earlier in the month and then being able to be home for a couple of weeks before xmas.

we'll be there Dec 3-11!

just hoping for a few more responses...

Thanks for yours Kathy

I've been once during the first 2 weeks (in 1995) and once the first long weekend (2001)
What I did notice aside from the fact that weekends are more crowded, is that this time of year is becoming more popular in general.

As far as Holiday Crowds, I think you are fine with either timeframe you have posted. Alot of the Disney Fan Sites folk converge for Meets the first week, but I still don't think that makes it unbearably crowded.

We're taking the Grandsons for their first WDW trip 12/5 - 12/11.

We went Dec. 04 from the 10th to the 18th. By the 17th, the crowds were really growing fast! I have never been glad to leave before, but I was then. Everything was packed, the parks, the roads, the restaurants.

I would say by all means go the earlier time. The only thing you would miss is crowds.

That's funny... I was there the 18th-23rd last year, and it didn't seem crowded at all, except for our MK day. I didn't have anything to compare it to, since it was my first trip, but it didn't seem bad. So even if you go during the busier of those two weeks, you should be in good shape.

Early December is one of our favorite times to visit--Christmas decorations without the Christmas crowds, pleasant weather... My recommendation would be the first week, just MHO. Our experience has been that the Saturday before Christmas week (17th this year) is when the crowds really start to build.

Have a wonderful trip--it's a fantastic time to visit the world!

We are going 12/03-12/16 and really think this is the best time to go. Susan
