I need some advice. I'm quite unexpectedly looking at taking a trip to Disneyland this year. I've never been to Disneyland and know nothing about it beyond the quick research I've done in the last 2 days.
Background... At this point I know there are some things that are completely non-negotiable & some that we prefer. The trip must be completed before 12/23 of this year & has some blackout dates including Labor Day weekend, Veteran's Day weekend, & 11/23-25. I'm a teacher and, while I'm not against missing some school, I'm only allowed 3 personal days so we can't miss more than 3 school days. We live in Virginia so travel will take 1 day at each end of the trip. I *think* we will have a 3 day park pass & will be staying 3 nights at one of the Disneyland hotels. That means we need a minimum of 5 days for the trip. We would like to see Christmas stuff.
Here's my question...
Based on the things that are not flexible (trip completion dates, blackout dates, & need to miss no more than 3 school days) we narrowed it down to 2 options. Both options require missing 2 school days.
Option A: parks November 20-22 (possibly do other area things 23-24 & fly back on 25th)
Option B: parks December 20-22 (we would fly back on the 23rd in order to be home for Christmas Eve)
From what I've read, crowds will be high both times and it sounds like Christmas stuff will be up both times.
Given that there are really no other options for this unexpected trip, which week would you, the Disneyland experts, suggest? Please don't factor cost into the decision. It's not that our funds are limitless, it's just that cost/budget is something we can discuss as a family
