All caught up!

I love the AKV pictures; they made me excited!!!

I'm a huge Land fan, too. Thankfully, DH definitely understand! It's not for everyone, but we both really enjoy it!

I'm sorry to hear things didn't go well with the DBF's family! I hope it gets better, though!

I love the Land area. I tried explaining to my parents that so many of the fruits and veggies they serve at the restaurants are grown there and they were just like "Huh? What? I don't get it."

Yes we are going to finish Day 1 today!

So we headed back to AKL. I was feeling a bit better about everything because we had finally gotten to a park and we had a wonderful dinner to look foward to. Now, only the four of us were on the dining plan. Before we left i made all our ADR's and made all of the ones with DBF and I for 4 instead of 2 just to be nice because I knew Jameson and Jess weren't aware what the word 'plan' meant. In retrospect was I upset I did this? Yes. DBF and I only had one dinner together and we had really wanted a couple more. We went back and forth on whether or not to tell Jameson and Jess that they were invited to our dinner and in the end we let them know. It would have been rude not to.

So we got back to the hotel and went to meet the Sage's who consited of Joe, Karen, their son Nathan (18) and their daughter Melissa (15). They seemed nice enough so we all sat on the balcony talking and watching the animals. I played with my camera a bit and took some pictures

We also talked about the cameras. Just FYI everyroom facing the Savannah at AKL has cameras. There is not a balcony they cannot see. We met one couple who tried to smoke on their balcony and was greeted with a knock on their door about 30 seconds later and a $500 fine. They are not messing around when it comes to these animals. Also, it is very easy to see into people rooms. Keep your blinds closed!

Another side note, as we came in, Mrs. N offered everyone a drink but me. (Sometimes i think she hates me). It wasn't till after half an hour of waitng and then finally asking my DBF did i get offered a beer.

After watching the animals we headed back to the room to get ready for dinner

Finally it was time for Sanaa. I was so excited about this one. I really don't know why! It was so nice to be able to just walk downstairs for dinner, I have to say. We checked in and it seemed really dead (actually kidani seemed dead all week) but it was 8:30 so that could be why. The guy at the desk was very nice and we were seated in a couple minutes. He seated us right next to the window because he "had to give us a good view!" The mood was perfect and everything seemed to be going great.

We had a wonderful server named Barry. He was FABULOUS! We all absolutly loved him and he joked around with us and was very attentive the whole time. Jess and I started with the bread plate and i recomend this to EVERYONE! It was so yummy! I wanted to take a picture but this is where the argument happened

Jameson is very agaist technology. Mostly because he doesn't have any or understand how it works. Boyfriend knows i take pictures of the food. He accepts this and will even remind me when I forget! When I mentioned i wanted to take a picture Jameson flipped out. Called it stupid and what for. Boyfriend tried to explain what food porn was. Bless him he tried to stick up for me, but it wasn't happening. Jameson continued on, saying that the internet was so stupid, and blogging and forums was stupid because you can't make any real connections with anyone. I tried to defend myself saying its something I love to do and I didn't think it was really right to criticize. He was relentless. i was fuming. This is something that means alot to me, I have made wonderful, life long friends through the internet and he was sitting here telling me I was stupid for doing it. I decided I had to drop it, so i did. Our food came and I was still seething. Once Barry put down the food no one moved to eat. It was very awkward. DBF said 'Get your camera" i think he was prepared to stick up for me. i said in my best pissed off voice

"No it's fine. Everyone eat, I won't take pictures because blogging is stupid."

Well miracle of miracle's Jameson says "No go ahead it's ok, it's your thing."

I was shocked! But I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth so I quickly snapped pictures of our dishes. Jess and I each got the sustainable fish

And Jameson had the Tandori chicken which I did not take a picture of. The three of us chowed our food, it was so good! Jameson didn't touch his. He says he has food anxiety. That's fine, but I didn't need to hear it 49 times to be honest. Oh well. All three of us got the same thing for desert

the sample platter which was also very tasty. The thing that looks like cheescake is actually a sort of ice cream! I kept forgetting it was tho and everything i took a bite it was a surprise!

We throughly enjoyed our meal here and I would go back in a second. Barry was fantastic and when he saw me taking pictures he asked 'Do you have a food blog?' I told him something like that and I'm going to give you a great review! He said "That's awesome, thanks!" LOVED HIM!

After that we said our goodbyes and we went back up to our room! Our first night in Disney, feels like so long ago! I took a shower (Can't stand showering in the morning) and DBF went to sleep while I stayed up to read and wait for my medicine to kick in (I'm an insomniac, it's extremely hard for me to sleep anywhere).

One last thing, I brought way too many books on this vacation. WAY WAY too many. I have a fear of running out of books on vacation. I concentrated mostly on my Laura ingalls book i brough with me though. When we went to Cape Cod this summer i started rebuying the series because i remembered how much i missed reading them. I think i read these books for the first time in 5th grade and I love them still! It became a routine at Disney every night before bed DBF would say 'are you gonna read some laura?' and then in the morning would ask 'what did laura do last night?' I really love that man

So that ends day 1!

COMING SOON: Back to Epcot we go! Lunch in Canada and my first ever EMH at MK!

I don't know what it is about the land, maybe since i used to be an Ag student? i just love it!

As fun as travelling with others CAN be, it can really be a strain sometimes. I am really worrying about the one week during our four week vacation that we will spend with some of our best friends! She LOVES Off Kilter and has been known to sit a WHOLE afternoon in front row to see ALL the shows! I sat with her once - never again!

Just letting you know I am in! I love childless TRs. Nothing against kids, I just find the childless TRs are more relatable (I have no kids) and entertaining. I love how you talk about both the good and bad times, not just the good. It humanizes your TR if that makes any sense. I'm looking forward to your next update!

Good for your DBF for sticking up for you!! Hope you have a "cool" day at work! Which Petsmart do you work at? My DD just turned 16 and is looking for a job. She is an animal LOVER. Plans to be a zoologist someday.

First of all, your DBF sounds WONDERFUL!!!! Secondly, your DBF's brother sounds awful! His whole family, in fact! Like I said before, trying to do WDW with a big group of people is really hard....I imagine trying to do it with a group of people who SUCK is next to impossible! But you seem to have a positive attitude and are trying to make the best of it! Oh, and I do food porn pictures too!

He is a royal pain and that's being nice. I'm so lucky that DBF is NOTHING like him! And don't worry, at least you only have 1 our of 4 weeks with them, we were stuck with them the whole time!

I feel like childless TR don't get enough love, so glad you are here!

I don't want to sugarcoat my trip, yes Disney is awesome but some things def went wrong on this trip, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows and magic. At least its entertaining haha! My mom is loving hearing about all this because she just can't believe these people are real!

Yes, he is a good BF, he tries really hard haha! I work at the Petsmart in Manchester, where are you guys located? You have to be 18 to work there so a little bit longer for her!

I guess I can only loook back on it now and laugh and use it for its entertainment purposes. Its wasnt an awful trip, just frustrating! But made us appreciate each other even more!

They've actually heard all about MK's backstage areas, since I used to work there Sometimes they just forget how big WDW really is. I tried explaining it to my sister (who's never been) and she was shocked and amused

We're actually planning a family reunion in about two years, so maybe I'll suggest we all do one of the tours, but I don't think they'll want to.

Yeah but I think it's more than that. It's not just that he doesn't share the Disney passion, he's just being a jerk. There are a lot of things that I don't understand why people are into but to each his own! Who is he to judge you for the things you like to do? He sounds like an immature, insecure, judgmental pain in the A! What reason does he have to knock your food picture taking other than to make you feel bad? That's just mean and I don't like when people are mean!

WOW, I'm caught up on your trip report and, while I mean no disrespect, your traveling partners seem like a BIG PITA!! (sorry, I'm brutally honest, and it get's me into trouble).....You and your BF seem to be the SANE one's of the group!!

I can understand now how you said they got on your nerves.....you are a SAINT to have put up with them
