Which water slides are off limits with a cast?

DS9 broke his arm a few weeks ago playing basketball at school - so bad he needed surgery to straighten it! He just got the full arm cast off yesterday. He has a half-arm, removable splint that he has to wear for a few (5) weeks.

We had really hoped it would be off before our trip, but no such luck. His surgeon has given the OK for him to do water slides - as long as he wears the splint.

Before his fall we added the waterpark and fun option for Humunga Kowabunga. It's his favorite. Will the CM's let him slide? :guilty:

What kind of splint is it? I know they don't allow anything that might scratch the slide (or the rider), like suits with metal decorations or things like that. Cheshire Figment is often around on this board, and since he works at TL, he should be able to tell you something.

I work at the gate and Guest Services. As Mary says, anything metal is prohibited as it can damage the slides. I think this question could really only be answered by a lifeguard or slide operations when they see the splint or cast. Basically if it something that can damage or hurt the person or another person it is not allowed.

I would also worry that the half-cast might get hung up on something and re-injure the arm.

Thanks everyone! It is one of those hard plastic (white) splint type braces with velcro straps. His surgeon gave him the OK to do the water slides as long as he wears the brace. Believe me, I was planning to say no, but DS9 was smart enough to ask the doctor.

So, I guess I'll tell him to be prepared for a "no" from the lifeguards, then if he gets a "yes" he will be very happy. :goodvibes

Thanks again!
