Just wanted to know which one had more things for them to do.
Should we get there early to stake out a good spot or go in the afternoon?
Thanks

It depends on how comfortable your child is in water. My first response is Typhoon Lagoon. The earlier you get to the water park, the better.

In 2002 I took my grandkids to TL (5½ & 7), last summer we did BB (6½ & 8) ... my g'daughter (5½ & 6½) loved both water parks ... but I think she really enjoyed the Ski Patrol area at BB best.

It had a pool area, kiddie tube slide, regular water slides, a zip line and "icebergs" rope walk thingie. I believe the age limit was 5/6 to 9 y.o.

There was also a younger kid area, but my 8 y.o. was too big for some of the slides.

When we went to TL we arrived in the afternoon (2PM) ... a thunderstorm went thru closing the park for 15-20 minutes which cleared it out so we had no trouble finding a beach chair.

For B we arrived first thing in the morning.

I think a 5 y.o. would enjoy either park.

If you're going in the summer, I'd pick TL. BB is just so white, with the landscape painted to look like snow, and I don't think it's very shady.

If you're going fall/spring, I'd pick BB, it just seems to have more slides, etc. for kids. And the Ski Patrol area is great! My very timid DD, at age 5, loved the tube slides there! I think she got a little bit more brave that trip, thanks to the wonderful CMs at BB!

And remember, during the winter, WDW usually closes one park at a time to rehab.

I would say BB. We took our then 4 y/o DS to BB last summer and he loved it. He was scared of the wave pool at TL (he has no fear of water, he's a great swimmer) because of the noise it makes and I think the reaction of other swimmers (running and screaming from the waves). The kids area in BB is better than the one at TL too, IMHO.

definitely Blizzard Beach - TL may be prettier, but BB has a much better kiddy area, in fact there are 2, one for younger kids, and then when she has done that and is feeling brave, there is an older kids area (Ski Patrol)

My 5 year old absolutely loved Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon was just ok

We were planning to try BB with our 4 1/2 DD this spring. For those who have been--Are children that age allowed on the bigger slides? From things I have seen, the only height requirement is for Summit Plummet. She is a daredevil and wouldn't be afraid of anything. I just wonder if she will be allowed.
