Which Value

Hi All. Just got back from a week at POR paid in full by my in-laws. :) My husband and I are now considering going ourselves and I've noticed a pretty big difference between the cost of the values and the moderates. We spent very little time at the resort so we are considering going value.

Is there one you recommend? Are there a lot of differences from the moderates? Our only requirement is that we'd like to be close to food court/bus stop.

Thanks,
Amye

I've only ever stayed at Pop. We chose Pop because it had it's own bus service. That may be changing with AoA opening, I'm not sure. I'm guessing AoA will have its own bus service when it fully opens because it's so large, but before all of the areas are open, they might share, but I'm not sure about that.

We liked Pop because it had lots of food choices and we were super close to the food court. The theming is cute, although somewhat dramatic. We also loved it because it was much cheaper for us - we have the same philosophy usually - it's just a place to sleep.

Absolutely love Pop..we were very close to food/bus stop last time we were there..no since spending alot on a place to sleep...

Pop - really like their food court, and pool side bar - not to mention my favorite the lake.

Pop is the only value resort with a lake (until AoA)

All of the rooms are the same size/layout at all of the values.
Pop has a more grown-up look to us. I don't think alot of kids would understand alot of the Pop theme.
If I were going with kids I would stay at ASMovies. I think Toy Story and Dalmations are the closest to food/bus there but I believe you will pay extra at all of the Values to be close to them. I also think ASMovies has had a refurb. too.

Pop, of course!!!!! :thumbsup2

Pop is the cleanest resort - the rooms, the lobby, the food court, the store, the grounds, etc...are extremely well kept.

I haven't met a person yet who did not like Pop. Seems like there's always something GOOD to say about it! :thumbsup2

:wave2: Another POP lover here! Lots of choices at the food court. We enjoyed our stay here a lot.

For values, I really like POP--lots of interesting theme items to check out on the grounds, a great selection in the food court, and an overall fun vibe.

We stayed in Sports, Movies and the Pop. We prefer Pop. If you don't need a pool view (witch may be a little bit noisy) ask for a preffered room in the Goofy water games area. You will be close to the lobby, the pool, the bus stop and if you are driving parking is close by.
The bus transportation sysytem is independant, so it come and goes onle to Pop no stops along the way. The food court is big and the seating area is huge.
Hope you have a magical trip...:);)

As a previous PoP lover, just returning from AsSports for Run Disney event. We found Sports to be super clean with new towels and clean carpets. Bus services seems not to be combined. Not once did we ever go to another resort while on the bus and at MK there are separate bus stops. Can't speak for other parks. Debating on our October stay at either PoP or All Stars, and most likely will go with Sports. Any questions let me know. Did not use the food court but I was able to get the front desk to print out my boarding pass no problems.

I don't think you can't go wrong with any of the value resorts especially if you don't spend much time there. The only value that I have stayed at is POP, I have stayed there twice, the 80's buildings are closer to the hippy dippy pool, food and buses, but it is also the loudest buildings. I like to stay in the 70's building in a preferred room, your not as close to the pool, but there is a walkway (around the 80's parking lot) that takes you right to the buses and you may have to walk a little bit more to get to the food.

We've stayed at Pop, All Star Sports, All Star Music, CBR, and CSR. We used to always stay at Pop but now we prefer All Star Music when we're staying in a value resort. All Star Music just seemed more cozy and clean. In fact, we stayed at AS Music in October and then stayed at CSR in December and we enjoyed AS Music better than CSR. I would be willing to stay at whichever value I could get the best rate at but would choose AS Music if all value resort rates were equal in price.

We love ASMu. For adults who only need s place to sleep & shower, it fits our needs perfectly. We ask to stay in the Jazz buildings that are closest to the front without having to get a "preferred room". Nice pool area to sit around (they have games, music, activities), we like the food area & cute gift shop. As for bus service...some times we do share stops with the other All Stars, but I have found we usually have our own bus.
