Which value resort do you like best? What are those reasons? What are the pros/cons of each value resort?

I have only ever stayed at Pop, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But we did have a great time. We were in the 90's building - it was away from the main hub of the resort, but it still wasn't too bad. It was quiet in our area. The computer pool is at the 90's and 80's buildings. The food court was decent. We rented a car, so no bus experience.
I will say that I think the bathrooms at AS Movies looks really cool with the black and white decor with all the stars. But I've only seen pictures.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

We have stayed at All Star Music twice and at All Star Sports the last 4 times (maybe more).

We liked both but prefer the All Star Sports because of the bus transportation. They stop first at Sports on the way in and out so when coming home from the parks you get off first.

Otherwise they were both good and we were happy with both.

We have stayed at the Polynesian, the Carribean Beach Resort, Fort Wilderness Cabins, some of the Villas and the old Treehouses. All in all we are very content at the All Stars.

They just recently completed renovations on the guest rooms at Music. They look really nice online...that's where I would stay.

I love the look of the reburished rooms.

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread for more reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

We liked POP the best because of the themeing and you dont have to share a bus like the other 3 resorts do

I haven't stayed at the all stars so I can't vouch for them but I will say that while I really liked POP the bus service was bad and the stops aren't covered. If you won't have a car, the non covered bus stops may be a deal breaker.

I've stayed at all the values & POP by far is the best and favorite for us. We just went in September & it was great. Food court has more selections than any of the values & is larger. Shopping is bigger and better, too. It is a much larger hotel so there's alot more people. Bus transportation was great - never had to wait very long for a bus to anywhere. At the AllStars they share buses and no matter which one we stayed it it was usually full by the time they picked us up - which was very frustrating. There's tons of posts on here regarding each of the values & we've all got our opinions. You can always choose one this time & visit the others while you're at WDW and then stay somewhere different next time.

We stayed at the All Star Sports and loved it. We are staying at the All Star Movies this time. Can't wait.

Here is a list of differences between pop and the All Stars:

Pop is newer.
Pop was opened in 2003.
All Star Movies was opened in 1999.
All Star Sports and Music were opened in 1994.

All Star Music is underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

All Star Sports is slated to be refurbished between June 2007 and Febuary of 2008.
Pop has a lake. The All Stars do not have a lake.

When staying at the All Stars you use any of the All Stars pools.
The 3 All Stars are within easy walking distance of each other.

The gift shops are separate from the food court at the All Stars.
The gift shop and food court are combined at Pop.

Pop has 2,880 guest rooms. 4 floors in each building.
Each of the All Stars has 1,960 rooms. 3 floors in each building
.

Both Pop and the All Star rooms are 260 square feet.

The beds at the All Stars are movable.

the beds at Pop at bolted to the floor.

The far bed at an All Star is closer to wall. And the near bed is not as close to the doorway as it is at Pop

The far bed at Pop is pulled away from the wall more. The near bed is closer to door.

For most people that would not make a difference but since I need an EVC
the bed being so near the door at Pop makes it more difficult for me to back my EVC in. :moped:

Buses:
Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot, MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

A WORD ABOUT BUS SHARING

To me Bus Sharing at the All Stars is really a non issue.

In the mornings during Park opening hours each All Star usually has a dedicated bus.
During mid day it is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes it is all 3 but often Sports and Movies share and Music has it's own bus back. Each of the All Stars usually has it's own dedicated bus back from the MK.
That is a big plus. It seems like the Music bus stop usually has the shortest of the three All Star bus lines.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3 All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)

whichever one has rooms available under the Florida Resident "special of the month" ($69.00 p/night ++)...LOL

Sack:rotfl2:

POP is our fav.
* You can see fireworks from Epcot (in the distance)
* Much cleaner / newer
* have their own bus
* great food court
* VERY kid friendly!!!
* never had a problem so why not go back?

My vote is for Pop. I have stayed at all of the values, except for Movies and my son and I like Pop best. My daughter and husband like Sports best. They say they like the smaller amount of rooms at Sports, which means less people, where Pop has more rooms and more people. My DS and I don't mind the people. I like there is no sharing with other resorts, only one bus stop, and it goes straight to the parks.
:thumbsup2

I have also stayed in all the values more than once.

Music is my favorite because it is quieter and has more of an adult crowd as it seems to be the favorite for budget honeymooners. At first the theming didn't grab me, but once I slowed down and really looked it at, I think I like it best of all the values. For instance the New Orleans rose garden and wrought iron bench in the jazz section, the horse corral with real saddles in the country, etc.

Movies has the most colorful, charming theming, but it is so hard to get a room there as it is very popular.

Sports IMHO has the best bus schedule/service; while I certainly would stay there again, I'm just not a huge sports fan. ("Real" sports fan--I like the resort.)

Pop has the best food court with more offerings, including the grilled flatbreads. It also has an indoor lounge and an outdoor lounge. I've probably had the best front desk service (of the values) at that resort. What keeps Pop from being my favorite is just the size and hence, number of people. it seems the food court was constant, loud mayhem--not matter what time of day or night, and there was always something of a line at the bus stops (from the resort or from the parks back.)

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them; and I will happily continue to visit!

None of the pools have a true deep end. If you like to tread water or swim away from wee ones in water wings, tough.
I don't consider the rooms to be THAT small, but they only have one sink. This could be a serious issue with more than two adults jockeying for position in the mornings or late night.
Becuase they are the lower priced resorts, you should expect the resort, the food court and the gift shop to be swarming at virtually all hours with families with lots of small, often screaming, children. I have never experienced a problem with room noise, but then I ask for top floor rooms facing away from any pools.

I have stayed at Movies and Pop many times. I definitely prefer Movies just for the sheer enjoyment of my surroundings. It is just SO "Disney". From Fantasia to Toy Story to The Dalmations to Herbie to the Ducks. If you have little ones they will love it.
We never found the bus transportation to be a problem. Seemed to be just as good as any other resort we've stayed at.
One down side is that it always seems to be booked up before the others.
