Which Towncar Service?

I know this has been asked a million times, I'm sure. I'm just not finding that thread right now. Who should I go with for a towncar service? I want the best deal, the best service, etc. I think there is one that doesn't charge for use of a car seat. Do any of them charge if your plane is late? We have used Ibex in the past, and we were very happy with the service, except that I couldn't understand our driver :( I feel horrible saying that, but I did.

They are so great! We've used them for two trips. Read my post below "Happy Limo Rocks"

I think they keep tabs of your flight-because you give the flight number, in case it would run late.

good luck!

We love Tiffany Towncars, also. If you have the 2003 Passporter for WDW, there is an 8 dollar coupon off a roundtrip fare (which is 85.00 with no stops). We have been pleased with them and will use them again in Jan.

Its Cartier Towncar for me too! Friends of mine used them for a trip last week and were very surprised to be picked up in a Limo. Needless to say their 8 year old daughter was thrilled!!

I have used Tiffany the last 5 trips and they are great! Have had different drivers and that did not make a difference.

Have a great trip!

We had a bad experience with Cartier and won't use them again....

But I think all services have happy customers and unhappy customers. The trick is to find one with the highest ratio of happy customers.

Can I ask why you are unhappy with Cartier? I think that is who we are leaving towards?

The ride from the airport to Disney was OK. The van was clean. The sign was wrong and they paged us to luggage service (which made me think that the airlines had lost our luggage) because it took us a while to get two seventy year old women and two preschoolers from the gate to luggage claim - which made me feel rushed. The grocery stop was horrible - they chose Kash and Karry - which I thought was a horrible grocery store, I've never been in a grocery store where the bread on the shelves was moldy - but I don't know good from bad in Orlando. Julio was charming - perhaps a little more charming than Grandma was comfortable with to my four year old daughter.

But if pickup had gone with the same minor disappointments, I'd just keep my mouth shut.

We called the night before to confirm at 10:30am pickup time. Yep, everything was fine. Got to the front of the resort at 10:20 and no van. Called at 10:30 and was told "He was there at 10:00, you weren't, so he left after twenty minutes." If he had been there, we had just missed him. Now he had two cell phone numbers for us and we were in our room - so he could have called if he was there. He turned around and arrived at about 10:50. Then - when we were already running twenty minutes late (and remember, we aren't a party that is not going to be able to run to catch a flight) - he took his sweet time loading the luggage so my husband and I started throwing bags in the back. One requested booster seat wasn't in the van. One of the seatbelts was broken. He took the longest way out of the Epcot area to the airport I have ever seen. And he drove slow - old men in hats were passing us! Oh, and I don't know if I couldn't have understood the driver - he didn't say a word to us. We had to volunteer which airline we were flying with. By the time I got out of the van, we were an hour later than I had expected and I was fuming. I had planned on two hours before "takeoff" at the airport - which gives us a good hour and a half before we need to be at the gate. And I have half an hour before boarding begins to get everyone ticketed, baggage checked, through security, two seniors and two preschoolers to the gate, and we were kind of hoping to pick up something to eat - having last eaten at 9:00am and we won't get off the plane until 3:00.

We got to the airport and the skycap took over (thank God because he was the most efficient person I dealt with all vacation)! We grabbed a bite and reached the gate as the plane was half boarded. (I did check at the gate and make sure we had time to grab food - we did, but barely).

We caught our flight, so no harm done to anything but my nerves - but I can't recommend them.

Have used 10 times with no problems.:wave2:

I would only choose Cartier if you don't want to get back to the Airport from your hotel.

Once they get your money, they leave you high and dry.

Another Tiffany vote. we had the same driver the following year and he remembered us. I had just finished my post-grad work and he said 'oh yeah..was it nursing or medical?" it was in physical therapy so I was very impressed he remembered. He remembered business stuff with my husband. He was so nice. His name was Darcy. we talked about him still being with the company and I think it's his siter's business and he was helping out that day!! It's a Small World.

I want to use them again but I'm concerned about the grocery stop. We've never done one with them and I read somewhere that it's a 20 minutes stop. Any comments on TTC grocery stops? My DH laughs at the thought of me in a grocery store I've never been to in 20 minutes!! Seems like others have 30 min.

ok, you guys have me thoroughly confused... i am the world's worst at making up my mind, and all these posts do not help!
here's what i have to go on besides the good/bad posts for the towncar companies:

here's the scenario -
airport to Portofino Bay on 12/20/03, return to airport from POR on 12/25/03. evidently some companies consider this round trip, and some count a two one-ways. anyway, here's what we got -
Tiffany - $107
Cartier - $75
Your Ride - $80
Happy - $110 + 20% grat. = $132
also, Cartier, Happy and Your Ride were very prompt in returning e-m questions; Tiffany never returned anything until i filled out the reservation form.
ok, probably Cartier... right?

I just booked my second pick up with Tiffany. I used them for the first time in October and didn't hesitate to book them again. I was very happy with my service. I told the driver I only needed to stop for bottled water. We stopped at a drug store and I was able to pick up a few other things I knew I needed! My driver was pleasant and very easy to talk to.

and had great service. Julio was our driver. No charge for carseat-he even had two for me to choose from. Stopped at cash and carry-was an ok grocery store- and was not rushed on the stop. Although having a list made our stop a lot quicker.

We will use Cartier on our next trip.

Our rt was $85. minus tip

Well, gypsy, if price is the only consideration. I'd have paid more to get picked up on time. They are the only service on this thread with complaints - which might tell you something.

dznyntnh, Did Cartier ever refund your money?

Lots of people have had great experiences with Cartier. dznyntnh and I may have just been unlucky. But there were a couple of weeks here were Cartier was just getting slammed.

I'm booking transport to DCL shortly, I think I might take Barb's advice for Happy Limo or give FL Tours the business for sponsoring the board.
