Which time before/after July4 or late Aug?

I'm puzzled to which time to go (we have to change our plans from the end of April) would it be better to go June 28 for a week (but would we hit the July 4th crowds) or after July 4th (maybe mid-July) or near the end of August into the beginning of Sept to labour day (my only concern is their alot of hurricanes late Aug?) We would then head to Clearwater for a couple days after Disney, we won't mind the heat when we're at the beach

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

If you need to go during the summer, I'd opt for late August. Alot of schools go back mid August, so the crowds will be more managable in the heat.

Shhhh...late August is not at all crowded (compared to the rest of the summer)...and don't tell anybody else, but the hurricane thing of the past few years is very unusual for central Florida. We've found the week before Labor Day the best time for our family. If you can go AFTER Labor Day, that's even better (still lighter crowds).

We go once a year to WDW. Last year we were there for 2 weeks, June 25- July 9. The only day the crowds seemed any larger than other summer times was on the 4th. We were advised by a CM just to avoid MK. We went to MGM and did not have a problem. In 2004 we did try Aug. 12 to Aug. 22 because the schools were suppose to start back. However, hurricane Charley came through on Aug. 13 and its seems everyone came to WDW since the schools in Florida closed. As far as heat, no difference.

I would not let any time of year stop me. It' s a great time no matter when you go.

I personally would never go to Florida on vacation in late August due to it being peak hurricane season. Yes, a hurricane can, and does, happen in June or July, but the chances are much higher in late August. I would just worry too much. I would choose early or mid July.
