I am curious to know what order people visit the parks. The Unoffical Guide suggested AK first, then MGM, Epcot and finally MK. I don't know if I can honestly wait 4 days until MK!! Does anyone have a particular order they visit the parks? This is our first family vacation and my family has no idea what to expect - they want it to be a surprise.

The first park we visit each trip is MK.
We head straight for Splash Mt. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Then we might stay at MK for awhile or go to our other favorite attractions...:woohoo: :woohoo:
But we have been a couple of times and we know what to expect.:flower3:

But, our first time we went to Epcot then MGM, MK and then AK.

If I had it to do over I probably would say start with AK and go from there.

I over planned our first trip and I found it is more fun just to "go with the flow" for us. But, some people like to have it all planned out before they leave. Me, I like to be able to stop and check things out and not have to be on a schedule! But that is just me!:dance3:

I know you will have a great time no matter what you do first...
you are going to be at WDW!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cloud9: :cloud9:

We must hit MK first. Even if just for a quickie visit on arrival day I would do MK first. I know some say with kids to save it for later in the week because they will not appreciate or enjoy Epcot or MGM as much but I disagree. MK is my kids favorite but they liked the others too.

For us MK is such an important, special place, we have to visit it first. I have a friend who feels the same and on one trip she didn't do MK first. It was their worst trip (relatively speaking, how bad can being at WDW be? LOL!) and she attributes it to being cursed for not going to MK first.;)

We arrive at WDW mid-day. I thought that day we'd visit AK. But after that, I know my heart will be pulling towards MK - perhaps evening fireworks? Or, I might just have to walk my family through those front gates on Main Street and see that Castle - I just don't think I can make myself wait!

If we are onsite, we go to whatever park has early EMH for the first day. It's tough if it isn't the MK, but we go there the second day, unless we finish the first park early.

Going with you the experts say it is best to go to Epcot or other parks before MK.Because when they get a taste of MK entertainment and attractions first they tend not to get into wanting to experience the other parks after a awhile at other park and it is very different experience from MK.That said we head right for MK on arrival, we do not have any children with us(even though we are just big kids) so it doesn't affect us the way familys with children would be affected. This is just my 2 cents on the subject.:goodvibes Danny

Epcot or AK first
AK or Epcot second
MGM next
MK last

Unless you're going to the Universals too.

Then I'd do Universal immediately before or immediately after MGM
And Islands of Adventure immediately before or immediately after MK.

No matter what you do, if you have enough time you'll want at least a day and a half at MK, preferably two.

We usually go to MK first, even if it is just an adult trip! Epcot is our favorite park but MK gives us that full on Disney impact to get our visit started!

We will be there Tuesday by 7pm!

I'd say save MK because, why not break the tradition and go to another park like hmm...let's say MGM! (good idea!)

We are starting at Epcot because it is so big. THat way we can go back and hit anything we miss later in the week. We always plan for 2 full days at MK.

I think it depends at the time you get...
I'll arrive at 3pm so I'll go to Animal Kingdom

If you go the next morning or to start a day and the trip first.. Epcot.. it's the biggest and is in the park where you have to walk A LOT!!

But let me tell you that it's very nice to visit MK the fisrt day and the Last one... it's the Fantasy park..

HI, We took our three girls for the first time this past January and thought a long time about order of parks. My sister and I had such fond memories of MK that we had to go there first. We were there for opening and it was magical. My one daughter was so excited when the characters came out in the train. The next day we went to MGM and we enjoyed a nice lunch at Prime Time and spent time relaxing, watching shows after a very busy first day. Third day we visited AK and headed back to MK for spectro and EMH. Fourth day was EP. The kids loved Soarin and E-mailing their friends from Epcot. After hitting all four parks we then had time to head back and do things we missed or really liked. My kids were impressed with each park for different reasons. Have a wonderful time.

We are doing Epcot first, mostly because Epcot was the first Disney park I ever set foot in. We just happened to go to that one the first day of our honeymoon. MK is next, then MGM, and then we'll be going to AK for the first time this trip.

How old are your kids, if any? Last year when we took DS (then 1 weeks shy of 3rd birthday) we took him to MK first. For us this was a bad choice. After that he wanted nothing to do with the other parks because that wasn't where Mickey lived.

This year our plan is Epcot, MGM, AK and then 3 days at Magic Kingdom. DS will be 2 week shy of his 4th birthday this year.

Hello & goodbye, it's MK all the way for us! That's where we have to start & end, planning or no, best days or no -- it's got to start & end w/ MK or we feel the whole trip would be off.
