We'll be planning a trip to DL for next summer. Of the summer months, which would be the best crowd-wise and weather-wise?

The kids get out of school mid June and go back early Sept, so we can go anytime in between.

Thanks! :goodvibes

After 4th of July until the second week of August. SoCal APs are blocked. Midweek is best too.

Really? I had no idea they blocked APs. I'm going in late July because I'll be in California for work and am taking a few extra days. I'm hoping it won't be too bad since we'll be there Tues - Fri.

We have friends with SoCal APs and we will want to spend park time with them, so what would be better, before 4th of July or after second week of August?

Thanks! :)

Wondering the same thing. Historically, how's the first week in June?

We went the first week of June a few Summer's ago and it was not too bad. There were a lot of school groups (all with same color t-shirts) and the park certainly got busier as the weekend got closer. We found it manageable, busy, but not at all crazy. The weather was wonderful. We were told it was "June Gloom" but being from the Northwest, we found it pleasant. It was overcast in the mornings and would burn off into warm sunny afternoons. Temps were in the upper 70's for most of the trip. Perfect! :thumbsup2 We would definitely do that week again in the future if our vacation timing worked out!!!

Agree with that! Early July would get my vote. Never been there in August because I think it can get a bit toasty to be standing in the ride queues.

We've been there in various weeks of June. In the first two weeks of June, the entertainment schedule isn't running at 100% yet. During this time you'll run into Grad Nights and unblocked APs. Some time around mid June is when the parks are firing on all cyclinders and they begin blocking out some APs.

If you want to go when SoCal AP's are not blocked then consult the AP calendar on the DLR website. I would say your best bet from June to Sept would be the last week of August - as long as you can tolerate Haunted Mantion being down. Otherwise l would say mid to late June.
