Which store chain do you prefer (insp by Black Friday)

All these Black Friday threads have me thinking... which one do you like best?


As for selection, quality and decent customer service my vote is for Target.

As for selection, and bad customer service is Walmart. (but the prices are usually a dollar or so less than Target)

Kmart, is just BAD all around.. they have improved since they have had self checkouts installed... I haven't had to stand in a checkout line for FOREVER!

I like Target! Target has nice things, it's always clean, and it's not as crowded as Wal-Mart. Our Target is only a year old so it's wonderful! Now...when I need groceries, I go to Wal-Mart b/c it's cheaper and they have a larger grocery selection.

I love Target! Their product lines are nice, stores are always (relatively) clean, prices are great, and their stuff seems a little more "upscale" than most mass merchandise/discount store chains. But then again, I'm a Wal*Mart Snob... so I might be a little biased.
I've had less-than-stellar experiences with products/staff at other chains, so I always stick to Target.

Target is great! I don't mind the dollar or so difference vs. Walmart when you factor in how much nicer the stores are. Also, in our area, many of the employees speak VERY limited English which makes asking for assistance extremely difficult. Don't flame me for being prejudiced, I really believe a store has a responsibilty to hire people who can effectively communicate, whatever the language. As a result, since the new Target opened, I have not gone back to shopping at Walmart. And, BTW, the Target is directly across the street from Walmart and I have never had a problem with one of their emplyees, go figure.

no walmart in our area, K Mart is not good, and though I like Kolh's, Target seems to be best for the things I'd buy in a chain store.

Target is the cleanest and most well kept in my opinion. I also think they have a higher quality of some goods than walmart. That being said, for all the things I would actually go to a store like that to purchase (toothpaste, deodorant, air fresheners,....) I usually go to walmart because it is larger and slightly less expensive. If I was inclined to buy other things at these stores (clothes, shoes, accesories, electronic equiptment) which I am not (please no flaming, I just don't buy those things in stores like that) then I would choose target b/c like I said they appear to have a higher quality of goods.

K-mart = yuck, yuck, and even more yuck!!! They are dirty, and not well kept (at least the ones I have experienced).

I love Target ( cant beat a Target Clearance!!!)

but for groceries I love Wallys.

I love Target, but do go to Wal-Mart a lot too especially for "the basics" like toothpaste, laundry soap, etc. etc. I rarely go to K-Mart anymore, it seems like they run out of their sale items so fast. Just this week I went, hoping to pick up several things, and was only able to get ONE thing on my list of their sale items. I was so disgusted!! I wish we'd get a Wal-Mart Super Center somewhere close. I LOVE those!!!

I go to Target once a year, and that is Black Friday. Never go to the others.

I live in an area that doesn't have these type of stores. We have tons of foo foo stores here, a true shopper's paradise for those who like stores like J. Crew, Banana Republic, Sephora, etc., but we don't have large chain stores around here. Just specialty stores. I can drive to the suburbs to go to the K-Marts,Targets and Walmarts, but I rarely do it. I buy all of my toilietry and cleaning supplies from the grocery store.

We love Target! (Well, most of them in the area) KMart? Icky. Wal-Mart? Worse than KMart. The only saving grace KMart has is Martha Stewart.

As for shopping on Black Friday? If I'm not working - I'm hiding in my house!

WallyWorld is the closest to us so I go there the most. I really like going to The Mall the best, tho!!!

I love, love, love Target!!!!
We have a Super-Walmart & I shop there too. They are great for things like cereal and pop tarts. Their cereal is at least $1.00 cheaper per box than any of the grocery stores around me.
As for Kmart...Dustin Hoffman said it best in the movie Rainman..."Kmart Sucks!"

I don't shop at Target anymore. I don't like their return policy. I understand why they have gone the "no-return-without-receipt" route, but I don't like to have to keep track of little slips of paper. Walmart may not be as nice, but their customer service beats the others hands down in my book.

I really hate K Mart. I could drive 5 minutes to K Mart or 30 to Target and I would rather go to Target.
