I'm not a mushroom person either. My husband and I both tried the NY Strip and it was the best steak (flavor) we have ever had and we love steak! I doubt you can go wrong with any steak at Le Cellier. Definitely our favorite meal of 18 on our trip back in December. Hope we can get ADR's for this place on future trips!
Don't be afraid to ask your server to change the entree around for you. I always get the filet with no mushrooms and with the cream cheese mashed potatos. I am a picky eater and the servers are usually very accommodating.
I always get the NY Strip & my wife gets the Mushroom Filet & both have always been great.
I think the Kansas City steak is coffee rubbed which isn't appealing to me at all. But like they stated above, you can get the filet without mushroom.
If you love Filet Mignon, LC filet is delicious, get it w/ or without mushrooms but for us the flavor is all about their NY Strip. DS(13) and I both get a bowl of the Cheddar Cheese soup and then split a NY strip dinner, subt. the Au Gratin (I don't like theirs) for the Cream Cheese Mashed and you still have room to split a Maple Creme Brulee!

My family adores the filet! DH and I get it with mushrooms and sub the risoto for cream cheese mash po and my two teens get the filet minus the mushrooms with the potatos as well, its the cut of meet, its tender and flavorfull!
