Which steak at LeCellier?

I'm thinking of sharing a meal with my wife at LeCellier. Would the Three Course Price Fixed Meal (w/14 Ounce New York Strip Steak) be a good choice? My wife would also like some of the cheese soup to dip the pretzel bread in. I don't often order steak, but love a GOOD steak. Should I get the NY strip, or go for the filet or ribeye. I see the ribeye is more expensive, but I thought the NY strip was a better cut of meat than the ribeye.
We are not big eaters.

agreed - the filet with the mushroom risotto!! DIVINE!

I also recommend the maple creme brulee - and unless you REALLY love black licorice, skip the chocolate bread pudding - it's served with anise flavored ice cream that sort of infuses the whole dessert (and isn't terribly pleasant)

and - the filet is a smaller portion, but every bite is heavenly. So if you aren't big eaters, don't look at the price or size at all - the filet is amazingly flavorful and was the best of the four steaks ordered at our table!

So if we decide on the filet, we need to order one for each of us?

Filet for sure! The best I've ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. You've gotta try the cheeses soup too!

You'll want to.......It was the best steak I have ever eaten! I wouldn't want to share! LOL

LOL - they're moderate sized portions - probably the size of the palm of your hand.

With the appetizers (and bread! ooh - the pretzel bread - yumm) and dessert, you may be okay sharing it.

I am filet lover but for some reason ordered the prime rib when I was there on the 3rd and it was delicious!

The ribeye isn't on the menu anymore, from what I read somewhere else. That's what I wanted, maybe I'll try the filet you are all raving about instead!!

OK, we went for lunch and the TROUT is exceptional!!! We did go back and have the filet to share, but not nearly as memorable to us. In either case, enjoy it will be a GREAT MEAL!

Best,
Joyce

The 20 oz ribeye was not on the menu? Pity -- I'm sure it was just an oversight. Call me cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it make a comeback, now that the free dining promotion is over. :teeth:

oh, wait - the "fixed price meal" do you mean the chef's choice meal or something like that?

If so, you have to get the bread pudding and it's icky...DH liked it, but didn't LOVE it (the meal, not the dessert). He said he'd wished he had gotten the filet.

We just ate there last week. I had the filet and my husband had the new york strip. The new york strip was by far the better choice. We could have shared it. :flower: Thinking about when my next trip will be!

I'm not sure with size as far as sharing goes...but both my husband and I had the filet mignon on our last trip there this past July and thought it was great. They put a bit of a glaze on it (but it was good; I'm usually not a glaze person) and it is served over potatos. Very very good. You must get the cheddar beer soup. I think that was the favorite part of our meal!

::MickeyMo I had filet mignon with some kind of barbecue sauce. Yum. It was delicious and so tender that I didn't even need a knife! ::MinnieMo

I agree with most people here. The Mushroom Filet Mignon was fabolous. My DH who is picky loved it and said it was the best meal there and wanted to go again. But its not big enough to share. Its actually pretty small.
Here is the desription
Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb beurre blanc, topped with fried parsnips $27.99
