Which spf sunblocks do you take?

Everytime before we go to Florida, I start tanning slowly at the salon. Up here, there is NEVER enough sun to get tan or burned and this way, I'm really dark before I go down, then I find that I actually lose my tan down in Florida, no matter what time of year, no matter how much I lay out! Being French Canadian, I have what my family calls poopy-colored French skin anyway, so I don't have to worry too much, but my husband is really fair, can't be out in the sun for 1/2 an hour before he burns badly even up here(blond all-American type) and he uses the same technique and it seems to work for him. I'd rather tan slowly over time than sunburn down there which would be much more damaging to your skin and really uncomfortable!

Chap Stick makes a sun block for your lips. It works, but tastes terrible. We used a sport spray sun block for the scalp and when dd's got braids. It was a little easier to rub into the "bald" spots.

For your skin's health, you can never have too high a number.
I never buy anything less than 45 here in California. A lot of the chain drug stores carry "NO AD" sunscreen, yep, NO AD is the brand name, and they don't advertise. A lot cheaper, a huge bottle, and available in a lot of different protection levels.
