Ok AKL vets, please give me your suggestions on what savannah room to request at AKL and why. Thanks

I dont really remember the room number but we had a savannah view room on the Kudu trail in Dec. It was really nice we saw animals day and night. My only regret was not staying concierge but they were booked up.

We were Zebra trail facing the Arusha rock savannah, it was a great location. Just an elevator ride down to the pool & restaurants and a short walk to the lobby. We saw lots of animals at all hours. Also the savannah on the other side of Zebra trail had a lot of animal activity.

Have a great trip, we loved the AKL and I hope you do too!

Our room was on the second floor(one floor below main level). It was next to a public viewing area right across the hall from the elevator that went down to the pool, snack bar, or up to the main lobby. I requested something close to the pool on the zebra trail, second floor. I loved the romm and how convenient it was to everything.:p

Here's a map with detailed locations of room numbers. We stayed on the 4th floor, Zebra Trail overlooking Arusha Rock Savannah and it was greeeeeeeaaaaaat!!

We stayed in Room # 4262, Kudu Trail, Sunset Savannah, King room. Always had animals outside our balcony. Sunset Savannah is the only savannah that has 3 giraffes. This was a very quiet location, since it's not really "on the way" to anywhere. Even though the AKL was nearly full we never heard a sound from anywhere. It's one floor above lobby level so the hallway traffic is nothing like the third floor. Never heard any of the "bathroom" sounds folks frequently complain about.

5415 has a great view of Arusha Roack and Zebra Trail. This is a concierge room.

3541 (a 2BR suite) has dual views of the Zebra Trail and the hot tub area--you can see from two sides :)

There were at least six giraffes on Zebra trail at one time last month...

I think 2515 is perhaps the greatest standard savannah view room at the AKL. This room is a short walk and elevator ride down to the Mara, Pool, and arcade. It is on the 2d floor, so you are closer to the animals than you would be on higher floors. It is positioned in such a way that the animals walk directly past your balcony each morning as they move into their feeding locations. It is not too far from the lobby--about 3-4 minutes. All in all it was great. Also, there is a giraffe "feeding" trough set up in a tree about 15 yards straight in front of this room's balcony. I loved walking down to the Mara in the morning, getting coffee and a croissant breakfast sandwich, returning to my balcony, and watching the giraffe eat while I, also, was eating. It was so close, that you could see the different muscles in the giraffe's jaw move as he/she chewed. It was great. :D

Forgot to mention--we always bring our binoculors when we are staying at the AKL. It's well worth lugging them!
