Which room at AKL

I am about to book a standard view room at AKL for my forthcoming trip. I will be travelling with DH and DS(who will be 14 months) and I am going to request a king bed however I have heard that some rooms have views of walls etc!!!! Please advise what floor and trail I should request!!!!

I'm not sure there are any standards with kings. I know that there are very few kings at the AKL, so don't expect to get one, just be surprised if it happens.

I would say to stay away from the first floor rooms, many of them have no privacy. Most look out onto the bus stop or packing lot, a few face walls. The Ostrich Trail will be quieter, but also a lot further from the bus stop and food court and pool.

We were there last month with reservations for a standard view room, and a request for king bed. I guess there must not be a lot of these rooms because we were given a pool view room, 4th floor, zebra trail. Nice room, but it seemed like miles away from the bus stop at the end of a long day! I think that's because AKL is such a large resort the way it's set up. Sorry I can't tell you which room/trail to request. I guess I just wanted to let you know that I too requested a king bed for standard room and was upgraded to pool view. HTH

Thanks for the info,a king bed is not important so dont think I will bother requesting it!!! Just want a room that isn't a million miles from reception and has views of a brick wall!!
