Which rides to avoid for motion sickness?

I get motion sickness very easy.
I got a tad sick on Space Mountain, alot sick on BTMR
Alot sick on Tower of Terror but handled Screaming quite well through the loop. Only over the humps toward the end did I start feeling uneasy.

I avoided Soarin' and Star tours.

For Captain EO, if you sit near the back, the seats do not move. I don't know if you'd get motion sick or not (the motion is pretty slight)--but I sat farther back and thought the effect was broken!

I'm not prone to motion sickness, but I don't like drops, so I didn't care for California Screamin' at all. I think the quick launch got my adrenalin running and made the (fairly substantial) drops that much worse. I haven't tried Tower of Terror.

I get sick just hearing the words "motion sickness."
The only thing I ever got sick on was Star Tours.
Indiana Jones doesn't bother me at all.
I don't see how Soarin' would make anybody sick because once your seat lifts into position, it does not move. All you have to do is close your eyes.
This doesn't work on Star Tours because your seat moves the whole time.

If you go on Star Tours, tell them you get motion sick and they will seat you towards the center of the car since that's where the car pivots from. I got nausea in the back row and asked them for their solution, which was the center.

I can't take the upside down loop in Screamin anymore, YMMV. Indy is sort of okay if I haven't eaten lately, but the whiplash makes it not my favorite anymore. Same for Matterhorn, but with the new cars being installed I'm hoping it'll be smoother than before.

Beware of ToT, I experienced that ride but only once so far, but unless I take something for motion sickness, I will not be experiencing it again. I started off fine, but by the 4th or so drop, I would have liked to have gotten off of that ride. Thank goodness, the ride was but a few more drops away from being done. It took me an hour to no longer feel dizzy and lightheaded. If anything I might just walk through the queue, then before entering one of the elevators, I will make my excuses. I love the theming and decor, but not the feeling of getting sick.
~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

ToT is an awful ride for me too, for making me feel motion sick. I am on gravol when in the parks, due to extreme nausea for even simple things like just being a passenger in a car - I was surprised that I can easily ride California Screamin' with no issues, but can not seem to stomache the lurch for ToT very often. When I ride it, I make sure I am riding it with gravol in my system. In the USA they sell the non-drowsy dramamine, and that seems to help too, but in Canada, we only have gravol. I have bought dramamine at the Hojo's gift shop before and it does work very well. :goodvibes

OOOH! I never thought to walk through the queue with my family then walk off before it's too late. I have always waited on the bench outside the gift shop, or in the photo area, listening to the unique and cool music. Very relaxing!

I get motion sickness as well but I take Bonine and that really helps a lot. I find that I can't be on a very full stomach, but even worse is having an empty stomach. I once rode BTMRR on an empty stomach which was rough, and then went on POTC and felt like I was going to barf the whole time. POTC! Ridiculous!

Since starting to use Bonine as suggested by some fellow DISers, I haven't had a problem. I still avoid the tea cups, Roger Rabbit, Silly Symphony Swings, Golden Zephyr, and close my eyes during some of Soarin', just to be safe (as I think those would be the worst). But the Bonine really helps.

With the Bonine I can actually ride the Tea cups! i just make sure to take it an hour before I start to ride stuff. :thumbsup2

So weird, it's the total opposite for me.....I used to get sick on ST all the time but now I LOVE the new one!!!!! It's the BEST! I don't get motion sick on it at all, now that may be because I'm so excited about the ride and seeing where I get to go that I just don't think about it but either way, I don't feel sick on ST anymore. :)

In addition to others previously mentioned I avoid Space.....that one gets me every time. LOL I've never been sick from it but I get nauseous.

Sounds like you and I have a bit in common. I used to feel not so great after riding the old ST, but the new ST doesn't bother me at all! My experiences with Space match yours.

I don't get motion sick, EXCEPT, Mickey's Wheel of Death (Mickey's Fun Wheel in DCA). There are two kinds of cars: those that are fixed to the edge of the wheel and rock back and forth, and those that are on tracks which roll, swing, rock, and generally make me motion sick. If there were one attraction to avoid, this is the one!

Is Bonine something you can find in most stores? I'm thinking I'll get some for my Mother Daughter visit coming up, that way I can ride with DD on things I normally skip. :)

Yes I buy Bonine at Target, Walmart, Walgreens,etc... even HoJo on my last trip because i forgot it at home. (its more expensive at HoJo of course) ::yes::

Edit... Pixie, I see your from Northern California and just 1 more testimonial for Bonine is at Six Flags in Vallejo i was able to ride the Tony Hawk ride when i took Bonine. We even rode it a couple times one day.

I get motion sickness real easy. Dinosaur got to me at WDW, so I didn't even attempt Indy.

I just got back from a three day trip to DL, my first, and the ride that got to me was Space Mountain, even though I did just fine at the Space Mountains at DLP and WDW. I didn't puke but felt awful for the next three hours, much worse than I felt after Dinosaur.

I do ok on Star tours, but despite being a Star Wars fan and not getting sick, I still think it's a dumb ride and easily skippable.

If Goofy's Sky School was longer I likely would have gotten sick on that.

i have severe motion sickness. so bad i can't ride in the backseat of any car.
indy never bothers me
star tours sends me to bed for hours.
screamin (yes u do go upside down )
matterhorn isn't too bad but only once a day.
the one that gets me is toy story midway mania
never even considered it would bother me but the cars spin around at each game and i guess with the glasses idk but it really bothered me. too bad because i loved the ride.
roger rabbit can be troublesome too.

Thank You. :) I've added it to my shopping list. :)
