Which rides have you gotten sick/not felt well on?

I am a big scaredy cat when it comes to the big ones. Plus, I do get motion sickness easily. But, at the same time, I don't want to be the old fuddy-duddy Mommy who doesn't want to ride. These are the ones I haven't done that I am afraid of getting sick on.

DLR
Space Mountain - went on it as a kid but thinking it is too much spinning
Anything that spins - Tea cups, Dumbo, rocket one - etc
Big Thunder railroad - just scared of this one. I'm not good with roller coasters
Rodger Rabbit - looks too spinny
Star Tours - would LOVE to ride this one, rode it as a kid, but now that I am old not sure with the motion sickness

DCA
California Screamin' - upside down roller coaster scares the heck out of me!
Soarin' over California - not sure of the motion sickness. I don't usually like Imax theaters for that reason, so not sure of SOC
The one with the swings - too high and spinny
Ferris Wheel - have done it in the past, but was scared the whole time!
Tower of Terror - that one just scares me

I guess that isn't too many I will sit on the sidelines and wave. Which rides have you gotten sick or not felt well after? Are there any you are afraid to go on?

Spinning rides are the ones I can't do. Absolutely no tea cups for me. But the only "thrill" rides that truly make me sick are Star Tours and Space Mountain. I just did Screamin' last month for the first time in about 10 years and it wasn't as bad as I remembered at all.

ETA: The only part of Soarin' that makes me a little sick is the part where you fly over LA at night. I just close my eyes for that one part and then open them again when the music changes so I can see the firework scene at the end.

There aren't any rides at DLR that I am afraid of riding. There are a few that I do not ride due to motion sickness. I get motion sick on anything that spins very tightly. So, Tea Cups, Roger Rabbit, and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree are out for me. I can handle Dumbo and Astro Oribiter, but only if I ride it only once. Other rides that have triggered motion sickness for me include Screamin' (I think it's because of the inversion) and Star Tours (because of the 3D movie).

I have ridden Space, Big Thunder, Soarin', ToT, (and Matterhorn) without any motion sickness issues, but motion sickness triggers vary by person.

I never feel sick on any of the rides, no matter how big n' fast n' scary - TOT, Screamin', Space Mountain, I can do them all no problem and ask for seconds…

But…

Those dang tea cups!!!

Absolutely every single time I go on them with my DS10 I want to barf. And he LOVES them so we have to go on them at least once every trip and once every trip I get about 20 seconds away from losing it. Seriously, if the tea cups went on for just 20 seconds longer, there would be hurl stains all over the place. :crazy2: :faint:

I don't do Space, Star Tours, Screamin', TOT, BTMRR, Matterhorn, Teacups, and haven't done Roger Rabbit or Goofys Sky School (it looks too herky-jerky) but I did overcome my fear of Indy a couple of years ago-the ones I sort of want to try are; Star Tours & Maters Junkyard Jamboree! I've even considered Matterhorn or Space!

I love Soarin, but also have to close my eyes sometimes! I went on BTMRR years ago & haven't been back since! Not my cup of tea!

I can only ride Star Tours once a day, and it HAS to be in the relative center of the audience--being on an edge really makes me sick.

The big one for me is Mickey's fun wheel (ferris wheel) in the moving cars. The stationary cars are fine, but man, oh man, those moving cars do me in. My 13 year-old son, who never gets motion sickness, felt so bad after riding this that he now calls the ride "Mickey's Wheel of Motion Sickness." I wholeheartedly agree--but my DH and DD think we're crazy. We will certainly be splitting up for this ride when we visit in October ;)

I'm pretty good with anything else--but I will say I've never ridden the swings at DCA--I just don't think they look fun. Those probably would make me sick if I ever rode them.

I didn't think I was going to be able to do the tea cups this past trip because ever since I had a child my motion sickness has amplified to the point of not being able to even ride in the passenger seats of cars now. I was pleasantly surprised I was able to do the tea cups by just holding the wheel and not letting it spin as much.

I've never been able to do Space Mountain and Star Tours....ever.

Ugh - Flick's Flyers. Thought I was going to lose it when I rode last time.

Came real close to getting motion sick on Star Tours last time, and the spinning of the tea cups leaves me with a little headache for a couple min after I get off. I have vague recollections about a non-motion version (maybe?) so maybe someone here has come across that or tried to ask a star tours CM before? If not I recommend a post asking about that on the disABILITIES board!

I am a ride junkie :thumbsup2 but I take gravol on the days I will be going on Star Tours or Soarin. For whatever reason they make me feel like throwing up, my hubby on the other hand cannot go on the swings!

I also get nervous with some rides and have issues with motion sickness so I know exactly where you're coming from. My main concern more than anything is my motion sickness and I do take Bonine which works wonders (for me) but it's trial and error with specific remedies. I do however avoid all spinning rides.
The rides with the screen are always questionable. I love Star Tours but I usually try to sit up near the screen. I sat in the very back row once and that wasn't so great. I have never felt ill riding Soarin'. The ride is very smooth. I think the ones that would probably have the hardest time with Soarin' is someone who has a fear of heights.
As for the coasters well...that took me some time to gather up the nerve to try them. I went on Big Thunder when I was a teenager and loved it. I think it is the tamest of the coasters (besides the kiddie ones). If you can handle that one then try to move on to Space Mountain.
California Screamin' is intense but so much fun but I can only do it maybe once or twice a trip because I get dizzy for a few minutes afterwards and I need some time to adjust. I feel the same way after riding the Silly Symphony Swings. Those are the only 2 rides that make me feel weird afterwards. It's never to the point where I think I'm going to be sick but just a bit disoriented.
One ride I will perhaps never go on is Tower of Terror. I despise that dropping feeling in the gut. :crazy2:

I've found that I've worked myself up for years by not trying some of the rides such as the coasters. I didn't go on Space Mountain until I was an adult. Then when I finally went on it, I realized just how much fun they are and not as bad as I thought. BTMRR is my all-time favorite ride.
But if you're not ready then no big deal! There is still plenty of other Disney to explore! ;)

Sadly, Tower of Terror. Just enough motion sickness to make me interested only in visiting the queue, then departing before take off.
:faint:

The only ones I've gotten sick on are the Tea Cups and Star Tours. Tea Cups I could handle the nausea but not Star Tours. I wanted to pass out I was so sick

Honestly all of them, as I've got really, really bad motion sickness:sick:. However if I take 12 hour Gravol prior to hitting the rides, I'm fine for the rest of the day. I made the mistake on our first trip to DL when the first ride the family wanted to hit was the Teacups. It was enough to make me green for the rest of the day:scared1:. I learned the errors of my ways, and after taking Gravol, I'm good for the rest of the day, no matter how wild the ride is.

I got sick on California Screaming at DCA. So sick I had to go to First Aid and lie on the gurney for 1.5 hours.

The only one that has ever made me feel a little sick is the swinging carts on Mickey's Fun Wheel. Last time we went my friend couldn't handle Star Tours or Space Mountain, but the swinging carts were fine for her. I could handle everything but the swinging carts.

Can't do tea cups or Silly Symphony Swings. Just thinking of them makes me dizzy. :sad2:
